  1. I know you weren't, i was just adding my own emphasis. She deserves some attention because of her dad really, whatever your opinion of him, the whole Live Aid thing was a global phenomena of significant importance.
  2. Getting married in the church your mother was buried in and selling the photos to Hello! magazine? Really?
  3. Tragedy of course but the amount of coverage gets explained when you read.... "By the following year, she had married her second husband, Thomas Cohen, also a musician, in the church where her mother's funeral had been held in 2000. "'I feel her presence all the time but especially today," she told Hello! magazine, to which she had sold the pictures."

  6. Any side down there with Coloccini, Enrique, Nolan, Barton, Carroll, Harper, the Taylors, Routledge, Guthrie etc was always going to do well.
  7. On the balance of probability, I think Short is more than likely to bankroll them next season if they go down. Doesn't make a lot of sense to pull the finances straight away. Ashley paid our squad £50m for the season and lost a lot of cash doing so because it made sense to. If you don't come straight back up, that's when the decision gets tough. If you keep a premier league style squad on the payroll it should mean coming back up. The QPR case is interesting on that front though as they could slip up and then Fernandes is fucked. I don't think they have anywhere near the quality of players we had when we were down there though. If Sunderland keep their core players they would certainly have one of the best sides down there.
  8. Some political philosophers consider the right to receive mass marketing mail shots, bills, bank statements and pizza delivery menus as a fundamental right. They see this as part of the Aristotlean concept of 'eudaimonia' which describes those things humans need to lead a 'flourishing' life. As the market can't provide this efficiently and fairly to all, governments should intervene and provide the services which allow people to lead better lives.... Nah, doesn't really work. Healthcare is different so we care about fairness. Postal services have to change with the times.
  9. Feeling utterly pointless. Trip to Belgium tomorrow and only a harsh re-drawing of European borders will bring me out of this fug. I kind of feel for Putin at times.
  10. Work is v. slow and this is Parky's version of watching Jeremy Kyle, sat around in his pants shouting at the coverage.
  11. I saw that, ever since I've had a strange urge to drink beer, gamble and play bingo. Odd.
  12. Great value as well, I had a pair years ago. Not for running though, no.
  13. Ridiculous thing to say, you'd look like a right wanker running around the park with cassette player sellotaped to the side of your head. I wouldn't bother personally, I'd enjoy my run in silence.
  14. I've had P5's, QC3s and SIE2s recently, they've all been worth the money. I think if I only had access to iphone earbuds I just wouldnt bother listening to music as the quality is so poor.
  15. then you clearly have hearing problems.
  16. Just to put this all into context, the average price in our neighbourhood is 10,000 per square metre. Do the maths on a 3 bed appartment. It's insane even compared to London.
  17. You don't really know what you're talking about but if you're interested, sites like CNET have great reviews for headphones. As they clearly state, whether you are listening at home or out with and about, your headphone choice is critical for sound quality. http://reviews.cnet.com/best-headphones/
  18. Fucking woeful crack on twitter if they are the highlights.
  19. If listening to compressed audio files on a smartphone didn't necessitate high quality headphones, there wouldn't a market for them. For a given media source, the biggest contribution you can make to audio quality is the headphones. You don't just want high quality sound when walking, flying or on a train when the whole world is listening to compressed audio.... You don't want massive over the ear phones when running and top quality in-ear ones usually require exact placement in the ear to get the sound right.
