You’ve missed “Crying” by Don McLean but yeah Try the pod, they discuss the Nolans (they have their own genre: “mum disco” ) endlessly

“the eieventies” circa early 79- late 82 I’d recommend that podcast to @Alex @Renton @Meenzer On the pod they state the two best years for popular music are 1979 and 1981. 1980 was a throwback to the bad 70s, not the good 70s that am on about. Hope that’s all clear

Hmmmm…in a way what Im getting at is that I think some of the tribes or their near descendants listed above are still with us. My point is the sheer quantity and variety of what was new in the 70s exceeds other decades. You could say northern soul informed the rave scene 15 years further down the line too eg

I decided I wasn’t going to post in this thread because it’s a situation that’s almost beyond proper comprehension for me. However this offers clear thinking if not an actual plan

I didn’t look like Jacob Rees Mogg or wear a skirt when I got married which are the two most common looks for nuptials if that’s what you’re suggesting? Am fuckin certain most of you lot turned up at the church looking like an 18th century country squire who’s a bit down on his luck, so I’d think on if I were you

No, I have a reasonable barnet for a gentleman of a certain age and I can assure everyone it’s never been near a fuckin feather cut of any kind 🤪

I think my youth gave me an over fondness for 80s music. I’ve now come round to thinking that the 70s in the UK & US had a far more interesting and varied chronology and produced bands with a huge, far reaching influence that is only second the Beatles and the Stones Consider: Heavy metal West Coast US singer/songwriters Country rock Commercial reggae/lovers rock Progressive rock Glam rock Punk rock New wave Disco Mod revival Ska revival NWOBH All started in the 70s 👌

Is that aimed at someone on here?

Is that the Balco labs stuff? Basically ended Abidal’s career

The one that isn’t a very good comedy/character actor or a failed car show host was in the Mock Turtles; early 90s landfill Manc-indie-baggy nonsense merchants. Or it might have been the Milltown Brothers, same description applies

I don’t think it was a mistake to sign either. But we’re on the bones of our arse injury wise and Howe won’t play them. You can’t compete on four fronts with 17 players. Somethings not adding up but it’s difficult to tell what. Howe was accused of being too loyal to certain players at Bournemouth which partly lead to relegation according to some . We’ll see…

Squad depth and the summer transfer window…. Is Howe suggesting that Livramento and Hall weren’t “his” signings by not playing them even when we’re struggling with injuries? Is there a chance Ashworth brought them in with the best of intentions but they’re basically not ready and Howe is sending him a message? obviously there could be loads of reasons but given our current medical woes it does seem a bit odd. Livramento was brilliant v Man City, not sure why he’s not being trusted in midfield later in games just to change it up 🤷🏻♂️

Young womens’ attitude to it in the 90s put me off, I think it was a lifestyle a lot of lasses aspired to (that and suggesting that Alanis Morrisette was somehow a spokesperson for all women in that era, if you’re reading this Nicky Holloway that means fuckin YOU!😏) but if you’re going to push that shit out you wouldn’t have bettered the writing or the comic performances from the actors. In that regard it was very good, just teeth grindingly fuckin smug and pleased with itself 🙄
