  2. your ability to sum up TT posters accurately and succinctly does you great credit Monbiot here, talking about agriculture and the EU. In your part of the world JJ this applies in a very significant way to Scotland's two largest landowners, (apart from the forestry commission) The Duke of Buccleuch and The Duke of Roxburghe...they make millions before a square yard of their land is let to anyone, and that income will be protected if the country votes for Brexit https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/jun/21/waste-cash-leavers-in-out-land-subsidie?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  3. Chez is worried about his wine cellar, poor chap...
  4. In other, fairly horrific, news... https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/jun/18/thomas-mair-charged-with-of-mp-jo-cox?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  5. Yeah, sadly not many of us got to vote in person for Davey the mackem Wonder if his favourite yank cougar could tempt him back if she beats Trump?... It'll be interesting to see what happens in the event of Brexit to say the least....even if it's a narrow "stay" vote, it may not be beyond the realms of possibility that the likes of Bradshaw, Creasy and Kinnock jnr etc will in a strange way be galvanised by the horrific events of of Thursday and in some way "save" what reimains of a pro Europe Labour...
  6. Just out of interest do you think remain would be in a better position with a Burnham or AN Other in charge of the party?
  7. Both main parties in the UK are from finished after this iyam. Calling this referendum has "polarised them to death". In the late 60s Enoch Powell was expelled from the Tory party by Edward Heath for the "rivers of blood" speech. Today, Boris Johnson sits in the cabinet without a fuckin bother on him. Labour doesn't represent the people it was originally supposed to because they don't really exist anymore, and the referendum is proving it precisely. This is what happens when you ditch democracy and hand things over to the CoL and Wall Street
  8. The real far left are completely anti Europe Rents, always have been. It's like there's a school of thought that Cameron is personaly a huge euro sceptic, there's also one that Corbyn is too. Also he wouldn't share a platform with the tories after the jocks shafting labour for doing the same in the Indy referendum.
  9. Prolly Toynbee's written some good stuff lately, there's a great article on why "the poor" just aren't listening to common sense... http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/jun/13/brexit-supporters-leave-vote-right?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  10. @Dr Gloom , a quote from his link.. "The EU is making its people poorer" That is true in a way, but if the EU wasn't tied into the global neo liberal system it would maybe be going about things differently.....its neo liberalism that is completely and utterly failing, and it's turning the poor (and not so poor) towards more of the fucktards who stand squarely behind it, the likes of Boris, Nigel and Donald, buying into their bullshit of "it's all immigrations fault, vote for us and you'll be free!" They're sleepwalking into more of what they're against. I can't quite believe how fucking depressing all this is.
  11. Stood waiting for her outside after she'd finished her surgery apparently, stabbed then shot her numerous times, also a man from a nearby dry cleaners who tried to intervene is injured as well. Allegedly pinned down by policemen whilst being arrested, shouting "Britain first" http://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2016/jun/16/eu-referendum-live-osborne-brexit-budget-leave-tories?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Administrador_de_p
  12. Its been shit...honest....
  13. All because Cameron couldn't control his backbenchers....it fuckin beggars belief that he's gone down this road when he almost certainly knew he wouldn't stand for a 3rd GE....probably expected another hung parliament last year and the referendum to be ditched in the subsequent horse trading. He kept Scotland by a whisker last year only for this car crash to achieve the destruction of the U.K. by default anyway...good work Dave
  14. See, this is what I'd like to do....drive the old jalopy into the city, drink a skinful of their shitty antipodean beer then stagger back for a restful nights kip. However, the current Mrs PL is strongly against this plan, as this is the nearest camp to the city itself, and we'd be almost certainly parked illegally come the morning, having spent the small hours "with inadequate toilet facilities".... I don't know what her problem is
  15. Think I've gone for something similar but free, puffin browser. Looks like it might do the trick, cheers
  16. @@Renton It's on Bein sports, you need a subscription, something which our Toyota camper van lacks....that and a television...7km outside Cairns, taxi into town and back $50 minimum...but thanks for the tip
  17. Don't think iplayer works abroad?..am getting [domain error]
  18. Can anyone recommend a decent app for an iPad by which I may be magically able to watch tonight's UK inter-nation football fest?... it's on at the relatively civil time of 11pm so I thought I'd make the effort.... Think what am after is a browser app which gets round the lack of flash drive on iOS devices? Or is there another way?
  19. I don't doubt it like, but if you're taking TVs ££££s you've got to have bit more guile and backbone than Jones displayed if you're there for "balance"...To me he should've just hardballed them with a few questions of his own when the host started putting word into hi mouth...
  20. Owen Jones was right, but storming off like that makes him look like a child, not a serious journalist. Looks like this piece of shit hated himself more than he hated homosexuals or loved Islam though....
  21. 27/51....should've got more but only about 35ish... https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/jun/10/euro-2016-ultimate-quiz-51-questions?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
  22. @@Haydnator mate, do not listen to this man. He'd also fathered 6 kids by that age and appeared on a low rent late 80s tv documentary...
  23. Itv wouldn't want to upset potential advertisers would they?
  24. Are these parliamentary committee hearings "under oath"?...ie bible or Koran type swearing?.,,
  25. Never heard of this debit card thing, but sub contractors working through agencies have had to pay a company to "process" their wages for the best part of two decades. Can't claim the 15-25 quid a week back as expenses neither. I think the overall term for this bullshit is "casualisation"...
