Hes apparently thinking about "saving" Leeds United from eternal pointlessness.....he's done well with South Sydney tbf but I think there had been some supporters getting uppity about increased ticket prices but thats probably melted away in the last year or so now theyve started winning trophies...

I think nationalisation of industries and utilities was in a way a thank you to the generaration who put a stop to Nazism. They certainly deserved what used to be called the "post war certainties" and the near full employment that came with them. We'd never had it before and when those who had voted Labour in immediately after the war, giving birth to our greatest institution the NHS in the process, started retiring they sold the whole fuckin lot off. Now they're almost all gone the suits are going to complete the job and do the same to the NHS. History might judge the mid to late 20th century way of doing things with a fair amount of astonishment.

For a Tory bastard by nature Oborne is a good egg tbh. Don't really disagree tbh, I'd had a few last night and the way ADPs post was phrased was pretty unsavoury to say the least when referring to people who are supposed to support the same club. However, there 5.136 billion reasons why going or not going won't make a blind bit of difference. Those with a sky subscription would br better chucking that in tbh it would have more effect.
