  1. from fuckin right back I think a lot of that side were/are underrated though...Ray Houghton was a fuckin great player iyam.
  2. If we're taking you as your average Lfc fan though, it looks like you're willing to give managers a lot more time than Fenway are. So if they sack Rodgers at christmas, its another poor appointment by them, because whichever way you dress it up so was Dalglish iyam. If he was sacked for poor results, then what they were doing appointing a manager as inexperianced as Rodgers is beyond me. And getting knocked out of the cup you won last season at home by his former side looks an appalling result, regardless of the circumstances i.e. the team Rodgers put out etc. Theyre having you lot over mate.
  3. Fair enough, but if Fenway wanted a manager with a track record of getting teams out of the second divison, which is all Rodgers had done tbf, they couldve appointed Neil Warnock. If Rodgers is struggling, its because he's not experianced enough to know how to handle the job. if you ask me, youve got another bunch of yanks pulling your collective pissers.
  4. I'd like to know who they thought shouldve replaced Dalglish?...and would they agree that, in view of Fenway Sports employment of Billy Beane at Boston Red Sox and the whole "Monyball" thing that brings with it, the perfect appointment for them would have been our own Alan Pardew, as thats the very system he's been working under at NUFC.
  5. the last few posts in this thread are painting some vivid images....
  6. This will cheer our scouse mate up....we got twatted, but our support here at the end is unreal. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QaiR5EwLIg&feature=endscreen
  7. Fanks! I tried to find a piccie of John Thompson with his Arsenal top on from The Fast Show a few years back....."Pringle?"....
  8. 2027: BBC Sport's Chris Osbourne at Carrow Road: "A chorus of "one Chrissy Hughton" goes up. Except it's from the fans of his former club Tottenham, rather than the team he currently manages, Norwich. Quite odd." Would Barry Davies or Motty find that "odd"?...who the fuck do the beeb send to these games nowadays?...
  9. Classic "early adopter" behaviour.....not a lot changes CT
  10. Hoying fireworks at each other at Stamford Bridge?....did the ref take the players off? 35 min: The ref orders a short break in play for reasons that Sky do not want to tell us about: the fact that some stewards at the United end are looking quite agitated suggests there may be some manner of mayhem afoot ... in fact, there are now claims on twitter that fireworks were thrown. Let's hope nothing more sinister develops.
  11. A picture in our bathroom jumped off the wall and smashed on to my sisters head when we were kids....we rushed in after hearing the scream and mum picked what was left of the frame and the cord which hung it on its hook was observed by the whole family to be unbroken We moved into the house in 1980, and this was the culmination of a bit of a campaign....water running in the middle of the night when all of us were in bed, the latched door (its an old cottage) to the lounge swinging open randomly, things going missing then reappearing again months later...it was all slightly amusing as I remember it, although the picture thing freaked my old dear and my sister out a bit to say the least. The funny thing is it all calmed down for over a decade...then, when the first granchild appeared it fuckin all started again! Mum was looking after them when their parents were at work and was hearing all sorts of stuff banging and crashing about...then as those kids got older it calmed down again....apart from when we were all sat there on New Years Eve a few years back when at 11-15pm the latch lifted up once again and the lounge door swung wide open, blowing a blast of freezing air into the room...... The thing is, my old man can remember the old woman who lived there when he was a kid...mad as a bag of ferrets, she'd been jilted at the altar in the 20s and seemed to be some sort of reclusive Miss Haversham type figure....a few years back he thought my old dear was behind him in the bedroom as he sat on the edge of the bed putting his shoes on...he looked into the dressing table mirror expecting to see his wife of 40+ plus years stood behind him but all he saw was a little bent figure in a red shawl diasapperaing into the wall behind him.....!
  12. CT, Bamburgh and Lindisfarne aren't significant because of what you can see today, although that, certainly in Bamburgh's case, is impressive. Its what happened there 1500-1000 years ago that helped shape the present we are experiencing in the 21st century which is significant. I'm not remotely religious but walking in the shadow of St Cuthbert and St Aidan on Lindisfarne is magical. Pick the right day/tide and its one of the most eerily atmospheric and peaceful places in the UK.
  13. Its a full moon this week.....brings out the fuckin snake in some...

  15. You cant just go to a game in Newcastle without visting the rest of the ancient Kingdom of Northumbria mind...I can see time is tight for you dbs but if you can squeeze in Lindisfarne and Bamburgh you should.
  16. My mate went for a golf lesson....the pro took one look at his swing and said "I can see your problem straight away....a very bad case of loft" my mate said "is that like a slice or a hook or something?" "No" the pro said "its lack of fuckin talent holding you back mate, nothing else" This is funnier because its true

  22. Thats why he was never prosecuted while he was alive....he knew where all the bodies were buried....
  23. Aye, until you've walked a mile in their boots... In reality it is the politicians who sent them there who are ultimately hanging these lads out to dry, thats what I was getting at. And people expressing a very black and white opinion on them in a free world made possible by their courage. As I said, its the old "a few good men" argument. We can say they should be prosecuted because of their actions, whether you agree with them or not. I think its a very, very grey moral area.
  24. So its "go and put your life on the line, and if you fuck up for any reason you'll be judged by those who wouldnt dream of doing what you volunteer for, and then jailed".If you ask me thats as morally wrong as leaving someone to die whos just attacked you, whilst you are out defending the rights of those who are doing the judging. Lifes not fair, and it wasnt fair for the insurgent either. But I know who's side am on.
