There was a thread going about somebody thinking about opening their own business, then this person came in and was all like, "Do it, it's been tough but great." Thread title was something to the effect of, "If you were going to start your own business, what would it be?"

I always like it when somebody like Rupert Murdoch tells someone how to do things. It's like taking modelling advice from Cindy Crawford- Step 1: Be extremely hot. Step 2: Profit! In Murdoch's case, Step 1: Get a shit ton of money Step 2: Profit! The problem with this idea is all media outlets will have to adopt this policy or no one will pay- it'll just drive traffic to other sites. I don't know how it is over there, but if these news outlets want me to start paying for content, they better start doing a helluva lot better job. I see more typos and grammatical mistakes in news articles (both in print and online) now that I ever have in the past. I realize they're probably like everyone else and they're trying to do more with less, but for fuck's sake...

I'm aticipating that argument - I've already been told there'll be no promotions/pay increases this year. In fairness that will be the case in a lot of places, especially if deflation does generally set in. All my investments are fucked and my house in England has gone down by 15% in value. Happy to admit we've had some thugs playing football for us, but we don't tend to play thuggish football. I see a difference. Every time I watch a Blackburn game it's like watching a game of football through a time warp. His record (mid table) wasn't woeful and if anything was an improvement on your previous season. Wasn't great granted but he could have brought some much needed stability to your club. Ashley has been responsible for a lot of your woes but one of those was sacking Allardyce. The Keegan fiasco was an error too, but then the man had only won 6 from his 21 in charge and the jury was still out on whether he would've made a good manager either way. Appointing Kinnear was the nail in the coffin but had you held onto Allardyce you wouldn't have fallen this far, not a chance. I know it's fun to try and think up interesting theories on why things do or don't happen, but you can't honestly look at this team and say to yourself, "Hmmm... What's missing here... What went wrong... Oh! I know! Sam Allardyce!" Seriously- get a grip. The Ongoing Shenanigans of Ashley & Co., injuries to key defenders down the stretch (hell, injuries in general), and no midfield offense have ALL got to come before you make it down the list to Big Sam.

I'm finally done building my new PC, but unlike the four other times I've done this, my old one isn't dead yet. I've got a 10mb service here to the house and I was thinking about moving my little website from it's GoDaddy hosting plan to my old PC and setting it up as a webserver/ dedicated game server. I've run across several articles regarding the actual nuts and bolts moves you have to make, just wondering if any of you lot have some personal experience you'd like to mention.

What do you like about him? Who Tarantino? His movies mostly.

The correct answer is no based on the fact that every film reviewer knows for better or for worse, he'll make headlines for saying Tarantino is shit. The only people who like Tarantino movies are normal people (whose opinions obviously don't matter). Therefore, since Tarantino is not rated by anyone in the industry, it is an impossibility for him to be over rated. FWIW, I loved Kill Bill 2 and Pulp Fiction. Resevior Dogs was another significant movie because it was a successful indie movie that came out at a time when neither gritty crime drama nor indie movies were en vogue in any sense. See also why Ramones and Nirvana are important bands compared to context of music trends at the time.
