  1. The one with Jessica Alba or Asian one? Saw the Asian one a few years back... It was aiight. If you like asian horror movies, you'll dig it.
  2. Hey! It's a good damn thing I'm a strong swimmer... He's right though. Aside from the random Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or that crazy ass Creationist museum for a laugh, there really isn't much here in the mid-west. You're much better off staying along the coasts. Be a lot of driving involved too which is something folks from across the pond can't always get their head around. For the most part, if one of us tells you it takes 12 hours to drive somewhere, we mean it. That 12 hours is you driving, primarily at interstate speeds, and little else. Not stopping to arse about for a couple hours at some town, then driving some more, etc. You don't want to fly all the way over here then spending it driving. If you're in big metropolitan areas you might run across a few people who've heard of Kurdistan, but most people will just nod and classify you as foreign and leave it at that. Or a few like me might ask you if that's near Kazakhstan since Borat was kind of big over here. If you make it to Florida, check out the Ripley's near Jacksonville and be sure you do the exhibit where you check out whether you're in the 5% of people who can do odd things with their face like touch their tongue to the tip of their nose. Its a lot more fun driving in America though. I did a couple of 15 hour drives but the weather, the huge lanes, the decent radio stations and the ever changing scenery makes it a lot more fun than driving down the A1 for 6 hours looking at the bumper of the car in front. See, I wasn't sure if you lot dig driving or not. Don't have time to do it anymore, but when I was younger and bored, my friends and I would just pile in a car and go. Somewhere. Anywhere. We'd drive out to Interstate 64 and as we neared the exit, we flipped a coin- tails West, heads East. End up in St. Louis or Louisville or Virginia a few hours later. If I can get up on my "Get off my lawn" soapbox for a minute, that's something I think kids miss these days with their facebooks and their myspace and their game consoles. I've probably driven over a million miles in the nearly 20 years I've had my license. Driven from various points in the mid-west to Chicago (tons of times), Louisville, Dallas, Austin, St. Louis, Nashville, Memphis... God, you name it and if it was within a day's time, we probably drove there. Longest driving trip I ever made was Austin, TX to Crown Point, Indiana (vicinity of Chicago). Took me like 19 hours and 45 minutes. Stopped only for gas, TBH.
  3. Black Helicopters is 100% TBH, though.
  4. Dude- let it go. Colocinni was shit the last two games. Pedestrian effort and no heart. Just get over it.
  5. Im confused Either something was going on and now you look like a soft shite for shaking his hand for it . . . . or nothing was going on and you look like a dick for giving him a mafioso speech over nowt? Also, why is your missus prepping him on not avoiding eye contact? Is she giving him pointers on how not to look guilty? Nah, man. Here's the deal- that handshake says, "You're shit. You're nothing to me. Either nothing to worry about, or I just gave you the Judas kiss, bitch." That's why it's top form.
  6. Up until Carroll's goal, this was the worst effort I'd ever seen from NUFC. Whole team just looked confused and outclassed from the start. Andy should be arrested for grand larceny- he stole the point from Stoke. On a sidenote, I realize he's good at it and everything, but does Rory Delap have to throw in every... single... fucking... ball? Jesus Christ. Must've eaten up 5 minutes of clock time just waiting for him to run over to the touchline every time the ball went out no matter what end it was on. Officiating was particularly odd today. No commonality on fouls/ cards/ etc. I have never seen Ameobi run flat out for a ball ever. EVER. For that reason alone he should be permanently benched.

  8. Well played, sir. Well played.
  9. Nevermind your mates, do you think she was cheating on you? If so, then yeah. Cut away. If not, then no. Ask yourself this question any time someone appears to be acting in your best interest- What does this person have to gain from this interaction?
  10. Jay-Z's nickname. Some rapper he bested in a rap battle back in the day called him J-Hova as in Jehovah. God of rap apparently.
  11. Very uplifting Cid. Thank you. At no point did I contemplate walking away from my child, it would never happen. But you see the child is what complicates my responses, I can't work from the gut like I normally do. I've got a couple of friends coming to the party with me, the plan will be to act through it best I can and stick with them and be as normal as I can with Mrs P (we did have a good night out last night). I have to come to terms also with the fact that I will never rationalise this particular incident, but closure will come once some time has passed. I had a chat with her dad on Sunday as well ( and her brother started asking for the Croatians address ). My only worry is that something silly will be said by someone at the party and then of course I know I can't hold myself back. But I have to be bigger than all this as you are implying in your post. This party sounds like a real pain in the ass. Are you somehow committed to going? Why don't you suprise Mrs. P with a night out on the town instead or something.
  12. Wouldn't help- it's a visual recognition thing.
  13. It's a lot harder to quickly pick out Christmas Tree's posts without the asian broad avatar...
  14. You're in a tough spot, Parky. I don't envy you at all. Don't go down the "I can't go on" road. Take it from somebody who has been there several times. First off, you can go on. I don't know you personally or anything, but I seriously doubt you're where you're at today personally and professionally because of another person. It was you that accomplished things. It was you who achieved. Your determination. Your hard work. Your passion. You did all that- no one else. Other people may have helped, certainly, but at the end of the day, it was you who succeeded. You also have a kid. That's something me and a lot of other folks haven't accomplished. That kid deserves to have you around. Whether or not she's cheating on you/ being a twat in general/ whatever has no bearing on this. Like it or not, you decided to have a kid. It's a big responsibility and this is part of it- you can't be a douche and just fuck off out of that kid's life. As for what to do, who knows. None of us really know your situation. We can offer advice and make jokes to try and blunt what you're feeling, but none of us are in your shoes. My wife and I got into it big over the holidays over a very similar "outing", shall we say. The thought of continuing on without her is undesirable to be sure, but I'll be damned if I go back to my dark places over a fucking broad, man. That being said, get back to work on getting my book turned into a movie. Once that fucker goes worldwide and makes us famous, we'll have all the hot chicks we could ever want.

    You forgot the weapons then?
  16. Dude, you know they're working on an AD movie, right? Supposed to be out in 2010 from what I've read. God, Arrested Development is like the funniest show I've ever seen on TV. Seinfeld had it's moments for sure, but Christ, I used to fall out of chairs watching Arrested Development. That story arc they did with Charlize Theron was classic. Oh, and Bob Loblaw. Still makes me smile just typing it. Reno 911 is good too. Did you see the movie? You, sir, are quite the mouthful! Y'know... as I recall, Bob started up some kind of online journal as well... what do you call those again? Good Lord, we just had a tornado drill here at the plant. It was like elementary school all over again.
  17. I do a killer Lt. Dangle impersonation IRL. SHERRIF'S DEPARTMENT!
  18. Caught Shaun of the Dead on Comedy Central over the weekend. I had forgotten how funny that movie is. Also caught Pitch Black on SciFi. Not nearly as good as I'd remembered it.
  19. Stuff like this cracks me up. For a short period of time, I took a job doing technical writing for a software company that coded shopping cart software. After I knocked out the manual they thought would take me like 5 months in less than one, they put me on forum patrol. It was my job to read through the posts on the company's forums, chill out people that were bitching, and find articles talking about e-commerce and shit like that. We had people on there all the time bitching about how our shopping cart sucked because they had x amount of abandonded carts since wheneverthefuck, and our SEO was shite because they hadn't moved up in the Google rank and all this stuff, so I'd chill them out with some company line bullshit, then I'd go check out their site and attempt to offer some constructive criticism. There'd be misspellings, misleading descriptions, broken links, and layouts so mired and complex you'd swear you were going to run into a minotaur along the way. At the end of the day though, it was our fault because our shopping cart software had hiccuped on a credit card transaction at 2am on a Wednesday. Course, some people had a legitimate gripe with things, but the vast majority didn't. This dude is probably another one of those, "eBay doesn't care about the little guy anymore", people because no one will buy the dvd based on his oh-so-witty description.

  21. It's always fun to talk about yourself... Real first name: Clint Nickname: Cid Age: Thirty-fucking-five. Ugh. Occupation: Manufacturing Engineer/ Designated Computer Systems Bitch/ Purchaser of Materials/ Quality Tech/ Keeping the Place Building Car Parts No Matter What Location: Evansville, Indiana, USA Language(s) spoken? American. Avatart - why? It's the Year Zero (NIN) American Flag. I was listening to Year Zero when I signed up, so I used it as my avatar. Previous avatarts? On here? None. On other boards? My fantasy hockey team logo (Mount Carmel Heretics), the Watchmen smiley face button, bunch of other random shite. Tell us when you first joined the boards? What was it, September? October? Something like that. 2008. Board highlights? A couple Fridays ago I was having a slow day at work and posted in like 5 threads at once. Board lowlights? Freaking out over American crap. I was having a bad day at work and took it out on somebody's thread. What would you be doing if you weren't doing your current job? Who the hell knows. Maybe being a nurse. Maybe going back to teaching. Maybe writing comic books. Pets? Yeah, we have three cats and a half-dachshund/ chihuahua. I play a bit like.... a fucking American. Football heroes? I'm pretty new to all of this, but Shearer's videos on YouTube were great. Currently, I think Jonas kind of gets shit on a lot. I think with a better center midfield he'd appear better than he is. And I admit it, I love Joey Barton. I was also a huge Rodman fan (NBA) if that explains anything. Football villains? Craig Bellamy is a punchline to a running joke my buddy BC and I share. Best advice given? I pushed one of my former students to complete his bachelor's degree when he really wanted to stop after his associate's and get to work. It's advice I wish someone would've given me. He called me and thanked me after he got his first job and saw how much more he was making than the other kids he graduated with. Ideal partner? My wife is the only person who would put up with me and my slightly fucked up head. I got lucky that way. Ideal dinner date? I'd love to take Chuck Palahniuk out for dinner and ask him if he thought my writing was any good, but I'd be worried the whole time he might think I was hitting on him. Ideal meal? I'm easy- fish and chips, breakfast burritos, a good pizza, I don't really care. Can you cook? Sorta. I mean not like french cuisine or anything, but well enough to impress broads. Current wheels? 2000 Mercury Cougar with 134,000 miles on it. Bought it used for my wife but she's since latched onto the Scion xB I bought for me. At least 70,000 of the miles on the Cougar are from me. Biggest influence? My dad probably. Or my grandma, maybe. TV programmes? Rescue Me, LOST, and Damages are my favorites. Oh, and Twilight Zone. I'm totally convinced that Twilight Zone is the best show ever. I loved Twin Peaks too. Burger and chips or fish and chips? Fish and chips. Burgers are aiight, but fish is good too. Chinese or indian? What do you order? Chinese. I have yet to eat good Indian food. Something with Chicken and rice. I dig egg drop soup too. Favourite tunes? Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, NIN, Public Enemy, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion... lots and lots of other stuff. Those are some of my all-time faves. Abi Titmuss or Jodi Marsh? No idea who either of these people are. George Clooney or Bradley Pitt? Eh? This one for the ladies or what? Favourite film? Just one? Jeez, I don't know. Goodfellas? If I won a million pounds.... I'd get a hell of a lot more writing done. Age first drunk alcohol? First drink? 14. Miller Lite in a can. Ever suspended/expelled from school? Once. I was kicked out of class for telling the teacher I thought a particular assignment "sucked." Favourite insult? I usually personalize on the fly. I don't have a go to insult. Not a lot of people know that...... Christ, I'm a pretty open person... Uh, that I play Warhammer 40k? That's sort of embarassing. I paint little men then move them around on a table. Most you've ever spent on an item of clothes? For myself? I've got an authentic Alex Ovechkin Dynamo Moscow hockey jersey. That was sorta expensive. I'm not much of a clothes horse anymore. It's funny, I make more money than I ever have in my life, but I've gone from the really put-together Swingers look when I had no money, to jeans and a T-Shirt now that I have money. How many pairs of shoes do you own? 3- my black steel toe Doc Martens for work, a pair black of Asics trainers, and some generic pair I mow the yard in. I'm obsessed with..... Right now? Working on my comic book takes up a lot of my free time. That and Warhammer: Online. In 5 years time, I hope to be.... a father.
  22. Still say it's Stoke, Boro, and WBA, although Sunderland is making a strong case.
  23. American Movie is good too. It's about these two burn-outs from Wisconsin trying to make a horror flick. Totally hilarious for all the wrong reasons.
  24. Is it just me or has Colo gotten worse as the season has gone by? Can't remember if it was after Hull or Arsenal, but I was asking if he was playing hurt or something. I never watched him before he came to NUFC, but I swear he looked better at the start of the season. Is there something else going on? Both goals today he just looked like he couldn't be arsed. Is he homesick and thinks if he plays shit enough we'll send him home? Was he lied to about the team/ city/ money when he signed? I'm not joking- he doesn't look like he's giving any effort the at least the last four matches. No hustle, no passion, nothing. Just looks defeated from the first whistle to the last.
