Let's be realistic, we didn't play for half a season last year (in a season during which we were definitely going down) and we were still nowhere near being relegated. There's half a league of absolute dross, who are comfortably worse than us. No, we're not going to have a successful season. We'll buy the bare minimum and basically survive. But, there is no way that anyone can say, with absolute certainty, that we'll be going down.

Struggle to understand how people can see him as entirely blameless in all of this, to be honest. Speaks volumes that it's only a Qatari club showing an interest in him. Aye, he's had some rough treatment, but that's come after the arm around the shoulder approach failed to get any consistency from him. He has the ability to make himself undroppable, but too often becomes a passenger. It is a proper shame, like. Love him to bits. Easily one of the most talented players I've ever seen. However, if we don't bring bodies in, and the expected players leave, we'll barely have enough senior pros to field a first eleven. For me, he won't let that happen.

Fair enough, like. I can understand a lot of the negativity around at the moment, but I can't understand anyone genuinely believing that Ashley would have us start the season with very little chance of maintaining our PL status.
