Now that they're following the exact same route as any other temporarily over achieving club - getting their best players, and manager, cherry picked by bigger, richer clubs - it's being held of up as an example of the ills of the modern game. I've been wondering why Southampton aren't just holding on to all of these players? They're the model of ambition, aren't they? Ambitious clubs simply don't sell their best players.

Floored me, this. Can't believe it. Throughout my time on N-O, he was the only poster I struck up an actual friendship with. A positive person, we used to share PMs having a chuckle at the melodramatic nature of the place. When I got banned, he was one of the only people to make an effort to check why. He was the one who suggested I start posting on here instead. I've never used forums to meet people, but Jon was just the kind of guy you couldn't help but warm to. 'Was' man, for fuck sake. Had no idea that he had these kind of problems, other than a struggle with anxiety. I'm left disappointed that he didn't post more regularly here, as I'd fallen out of touch with him. RIP Jon, mate. You'll be missed, so much.

Honestly, man. Nearly every article relating to our recent transfer business, during the last week, has mentioned that we're looking for two strikers. Some even mention that one will be a 'senior striker to replace Remy'. CSD, for some reason, is clinging to his belief that we won't as his last hope of negativity. He's not the only one, mind. A relatively significant proportion of our support thrive on it. Guarantee that, if we do shell out for a half decent striker, the first words from CSD, and this part of our support, will be 'what about that centre half we need'.
