bit of a chop shop job though. not that i'm complaining....

our new shirt has stripes. doesn't stop the players from looking like everton mints....
-
get outa here, surely you mean Jimmy Nail....
-
seems to me, most sides that have the vertical stripes with the exception of milan, have been royally mugged off. that barca shirt is pretty average, and ours is not great either. inters new one is just about ok....

hows the battery holding out on this? had mine 16 months and its not quite as good as before....

Shane Ferguson tearing apart international opposition
tinofbeans replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
with that level of experience, absolutely. this brings another point, with the mooted departure of enrique, and no obvious players to directly replace him, are we to see ferguson as a stand in left back next season. or what? -
Krul is a mile better than Harper. Learnin sure, but will keep on getting better and better. Don't be fucking stupid. Krul has potential but to say he's currently better than Harper is nothing short of ridiculous. not yet. needs to improve his decision making. when harper becomes completely immobile ( april next year) the balance will have tipped!....

You're having a laugh aren't you using fifa stats to indicate how good a player is... jesus wept. everyone knows PES is more reliable...

chicarito for me. gives utd an excellent option, fast and almost solskaer like in his finishing. tiote has been excellent for us and we would be in the bottom 5 or 6 without him... I also think suarez has been excellent, not absolutely a great goal scorer, but creates havoc with his direct running and ability on and off the ball. creates openings that very few other players can do...
-
thing is when i was playing PES 2006, he was mustard ( as a defensive midfielder)... not that that means anything.
-
tino asprilla. great player ( hat trick vs barca) on occasion, but the other players didn't get the best out of him. could have cost us the title as well.
-
He's far better than what we have. when match fit. worth a bid. was absolutely prolific up until a couple of seasons ago, and maybe needs to be assured of first team football to keep that going. with what we have, he'd be a shoe in for the first team.

boots up vic 20. ahhhhh....

Exactly, herein lies the problem. Nostalgia interrupts debate and a conclusion cannot be reached. (However I am in the Fat Ronaldo camp) Get Messi in to the Premiership where more than ever any team can beat any other team you'd see how good he is. He's going to be in the top 10 or 15 players of all time, I don't dispute that, but largely he was mediocre in the world cup, the greatest stage of all, if he conquers that, or goes to a club like Napoli and single handedly wins 2 titles on his own, then you could start classing him in Maradona's league. One thing I can say with certainty, he will never have the charisma of Maradona. As a Napoli fan, careca was a massive player for Napoli, and the entire team was not bad.... at all. Maradona was great but his argentina side of 86 would probably have had a field day against messi's team of 2010. the point i'm making is, we are making a judgement too early, messi is what 22 or 23 and as such is a far better goalscorer (numerically in terms of goals scored for the same age) than maradona already. He also plays with comparatively better footballers than maradona in his club side. I thought last nights goal was exceptional. i think he'd adapt easily to the premiership. but would have to play exactly as he does with barca. i.e. free, false nine and no 10 all rolled into one.

Poll for the best 10 Football club teams in history:
tinofbeans replied to dadoon's topic in General Chat
berrylands wolf pack 79-80. we won the treble, unbeaten and didn't concede a goal. been downhill ever since. -
that just about nails it.

OFF THE RADAR, fuck my old boots son... these players are nowhere near good enough. end of story. i tell you who i'd love to have at newcastle. would never happen, but he is a hell of a centre forward. the lad Cavani who plays at napoli. some player.
-
the best foreign coach statistically (except mourinho) in the premiership. having said that, really arsenal need a plan b or plan c. scezny is going to be some keeper, but they needed vermaelen back this year, he was their best defender last year and the new buys (squillaci especially) have not been up to it.

ben arfa will be here next year, tiote, i really hope so. for me he is our absolutely most important player. no one can do exactly what he does, which is hold and control a game from deep. if ben arfa comes in and is as good as i think he is we get a free (???) player for mext season who in terms of quality, will be able to be better than 2 or 3 players in a variety of positions ( 2nd striker or either wide forward/ winger positions) than what we have... as for the big 7, well its more like 5. 1 barton 2 tiote 3 enrique 4 collocini 5 nolan the rest are not quite good enough. notable exceptions are ben arfa (pending his fitness), and on occasion williamson, who whilst he gets moaned about is not as bad as a few say. Krul (if he can sort his decision making out) and harper ( if he can re learn how to dive). aren't that bad either....

Napoli are in 2nd place and have a game against the other really entertaining side in serie a, udinese tonight. should be a cracker. -
too good for the championship, not quite good enough for the premiership?
-
triple european cup winner. multiple league titles. still good enough to score in the champions league. not a bad player!
-
