  1. how good is xavi? 2 really nice passes and 2 really well taken goals. messi's control and finish were very tidy... pedro gets better and better.
  2. they will strengthen our squad though. I'm no advocate of cheap shitty signings, but ohara is a better player than what we have in the centre of the park. gives us an option down the left as well. not so sure about senderos, his career has been in freefall since being loaned out to Milan.
  3. not bad for an 88 year old....
  4. bollocks nope. Truth be known their quality ( the big 4/5/ whatever) will come through but they often have a few games where they are catching up with themseleves.

just re read my post. fucking hell man! basic maths.....
  6. typical thick footballer then. lovely hair mind. oh wait?!
  7. top 10 a (currently unacheivable) target. i put us 15th with moderate investment. one thing that could stand us in favour is that its a world cup year and all the big sides with their worldcup bound internationals will be fecked by the time the season starts, thats our chance to get points on the board. after that it WILL be a struggle.

We have to win 4 from 6 and a draw in there as well. I see no one in those fixtures that'd cause us too much trouble except blackpool who murdered us last time we played them. hopefully we can do it, and hopefully we do it playing decent football.
  9. some great ideas there matt. if only eh!
  10. in the championship perhaps. Time will tell. for me he isnt quick enough and every game i saw in the premier league last year also said he wasn't strong enough. technically hes not bad, but needs to improve in every area significantly if he is to become a 10-15 goal premier league striker. oh and as for england. no. he's about 27th in the pecking order. and rightly so.
  11. ok so we go up to the premier league without our best defender (sic). Taylors always been out for himself and has proved to bee a poor mans JT without even a bit of that chelsea nobheads talent. we'd get 5-6 mill for him. ship him out. Carrol is nowhere near good enough for the premier league. he'll get found out. who'd want a pisshead championship level twat at their club....
  12. quantic. jesus, that guy is talented!
  13. if we are to go up, the entire first team squad isn't good enough to compete. simple as that really.
  14. don't think so. a succesfull season for fulham is getting in the top 8-10 of the premiership and a decent cup run (both of which are acheivable).... hodgsons team has one thing we didn't have. fight. and some midfielders that gave a shit. duff was clearly constantly recuperating from injuries sustained at chelsea, when he was with us and was often rushed back too early. Hodgson, identifies the teams weaknesses and addresses them on the cheap. he's also an excellent motivator. look at the back 4, they know each others games inside out.. that builds confidence throughout the rest of the team. to be fair most of that team are journeymen, but they have consistently punched above their weight all season and last year as well.
  15. was going to say Boban. very good player, very well liked as well by most that played with him. big fan of robert prosinecki. what a wonderful technical player. 40 a day dulled him physically, but you'd struggle to get the ball off him even now!
  16. Yep. Apparently when he fucked up that pen that cost Chelscum the european cup his wife was weeping. not because he lost but because he wouldn't get a win bonus. fucking scumsucking dogs the entire terry family. other players: gary neville. Stevie G, stan collymore.
  17. He won't be leaving london. if ancelloti leaves ( which if they don't win the league , he will), he won't leave chelsea. i can see him working well at arsenal.
  18. Lembit optik. Jesus wept. he bedded a weathergirl (Sian LLoyd) as well.
  19. Yes, couldn't agree more. cris looked awful against us for bayer leverkusen in the champions league. iirc wasn't it shola running rings around him? I was on about Boumsong. Haven't seen enough of Cris really to comment. I've said similar before but Boumsong would rather face someone like Henry, who he played well against a couple of times for us iirc, when Henry was at or near his peak as well than some big lump like Geoff Horsfield or even Shearer when he was effectively past it. I don't think Boumsong is a great defender but he's pretty decent as far as continental football goes. Maybe cris is the leader at the back for lyon, strikes me as being obvious, that a centreback who needs guidance (as boumsong clearly did during his time with us) should have a keeper and a centreback partner who could lead them. we had given (who's glaringly obvious communications problems still haunt city) and bramble (who's leadership skills are non existant). this season when taylors played he seems to have led the rearguard quite well as has harper. in the premiership their lack of talent would not be enough i fear!

    Ouch!

ghastly, reminded me of a team mate (we nickname him the mummy because for some reason he bandages his knees) hurt his knee... by hurt I mean he turned and jumped and landed and dislocated his knee. as in it was on the side of his leg. fuck that was awful... those broken legs look absolutely awful as well tbh....
  21. heh. the team we played today didn't know what to make of them. i think one of them said it looked like i had put some tubes of bostik on my feet. i did! didn't work as we were narrowly beat 2-1. ho hum....
  22. they are the best pair of boots i've ever worn, proven by my goalscoring exploits in a veterans league 5 a side tournament on wednesday... scored 4 goals, made 2 on an 8-1 drubbing of the 2nd place team in our league. looking forward to tomorrow, sunday league, mid table clash with a load of inbreds from leatherhead. bear in mind i play as a holding midfielder normally in 11 a side. fuck the black boots shit, i've worn boring black boots for 30 years and fancied a change. they cost 49 quid, they are the mid range ones not the lasers.... think they are called strike... as for hospital related stuff, i've only ever been injured once, and that was my fault.... i guess i'm fairly obdurate.
  23. not a chance man. good enough for rooney and torres, good enough for me....!
