Oh but I did watch the game Sniffer, in its entirety, and I hardly think that 1(one) so-called by you brilliant run by Owen could show he was causing their defense problems more than one time, it takes more than one to raise him from annonimity. I admit I may be stupid but not stupid enough to recognize that Owen did precious little to worry their defenders all night, nobody did. Perhaps you could tell this dummy what else Owen did besides that one brilliant run so I can retract my comment that he was annonymous.

Sniff-sniff I did say he had missed a sitter Sniffer.

Let's spread the abuse around to the players who contibuted a great deal to a perfectly shit performence overall. HARPER: could be abused for being too far off his line and allowing them to score a cracker from 35 yards. If he had been closer to his line he could have probably saved it and spared us the humiliating defeat. TAYLOR: could be abused for his under-par performence and lack of ball-control when he was surging forward and getting himself stranded up field. Out of position is no excuse, he's played right-back many times in the past. Maybe Big Sam should have dropped him. ROZENHALL: not as solid as he has been and looked a bit flustered at times. Shouldn't have missed that sitter which would have probably changed the games outcome. The back four was flawed against bottom of the table Derby. CACAPA: there is no need for a defender with his experience and skill to kick balls into touch when there is no pressure from an opponent, but he did and that shows either panic or lack of confidence in being able to clear the line and get the ball downfield rather than give them possession via a throw-in. The back four was flawed against bottom of the table Derby. NZOGBIA: kept falling down, should have changed his studs. An under-par performence from him compared with the previous games. Wasn't making fruitful runs and wasn't giving their defense anxiety attacks like he usually does. BUTT: but what can I say, he wasn't a commanding figure in the middle like he has been, his passing was below par and he wasn't feeding the strike-force the way he should have been. SMITH: there's enough been said already about him, however, reckless tackles, errant passing, lack of flair, are not excused by hard work. GEREMI: my oh my, couldn't get good corner-kicks across, too many bad passes, couldn't capitalize on set pieces, and compared to previous games he was worse than before. If leading by example is the way to go no wonder the team were a load of shite. OWEN: same-o same-o, he is useless unless he gets the service he needs, he was pretty much anonymous and didn't cause their defense any problems. MILNER: one of his worse days, was trying to take people on but having little success at doing it and not getting the crosses in. AMEOBE: Spread the abuse around, in my opinion there wasn't one player who had what could be called a good game. They were all below par with the exception of Harper who you could say was on a par.

We were fucking awful but the defence didnt really do owt wrong tbh. The winner came from 30 yards out and was barely a defensive issue. Can't agree with you there, when the keeper launches a long ball down-field you'd like to think a defender would get underneath it but it didn't happen. In fact there were a lot of high balls our defense should have been winning and weren't. I construe the keeper as the first line of defense (and offense) and in regard to the goal (which was a corker) I believe that as a defender Harper was remiss by being too far off his line. If Harper had been closer to his line he may have been able to stop it so I look at it as a defensive error. Blaming Harper for that would be very harsh. Wonderful strike. Geremi should have got the header in tbh. Not blaming Harper for the loss, and I've said the goal was a corker, but when the opposing keeper is taking a goal kick it's smart to be on your line as some of the keepers have long kicks and have been known to score direct from goal kicks because the opposing keeper was off his line. I'm just saying Harper may have stopped the goal had he been closer on his line. The loss was due to a shit performence and the inability to score against the bottom team.

With the current exchange rate being about 2 - 1, that would be about $20. a little more expensive but not way out of line.

I don't know what anyone else thinks but that display today was absolutely appalling and in saying that, there wasn't one player on our team who had a half-way decent game. Big Sam needs to rethink his big-man little-man strike force application if it includes Amoebe. Todays strike-force was toothless. The mid-field were a joke and Geremi was the biggest laugh, nigh brought me to tears. The defense, what defense? it didn't look any better than it was last season, Taylor was terrible and I can't make the excuse he was out of position as he has played there many times. I wasn't impressed with Cacapa either, kicking into touch when under NO pressure creates doubts. However, we have a history of losing against bottom teams so I can't say I was too surprised, just mortified that it's still going on. The bubble of our brilliant start to the season has just been burst. I am really pissed off.

Last year Setanta Sports USA became available on Direct-TV which of course I don't have However, it is now available on Dishnetwork which I do have and I signed up for it and will see the Derby match live today. I was curious as to how much Setanta Sport UK costs per month. It is going to cost me $14.99 a month and wondered if we were in the same ballpark or whether it was more expensive over there. With Setanta USA and our Fox Soccer Channel(which is free) I should be getting to see most of Newcastle's league games without having to rely on 'Streams'. Apart from today's match I know I am lined up to see the next two games.

I could live with that but I think I would rather have Butt in place of Smith at the moment.

You know, the more you write the more I'm convinced you are a pathetic young man who wallows in self-adoration and is egotistical enough to believe he is articulate and intelligent enough to engage in verbal confrontations with someone who has probably forgotten more than you could ever know. After saying that I can't help but think of someone who tried it once before on this forum and looked an even bigger fool than he probably was. This topic was originally about legendary Ian Porterfield and its very sad that you took it upon yourself to steer it in a disrespectful direction. Shame on you.

Nobody acts in the same manner in the real world and on the internet. Well I never, you've actually posted something that hinges on the truth. The internet offers somewhat of a safety shield from the real world allowing people to be as obnoxious and disrespectful as they want to be without fear of being punished other than being banned from the site where their disrespect is flourishing. In the real world one has to exercise some discretion on occasion or you may find someone at your front door seeking to do you some harm. However, judging by your comments I'm not too sure you are any different on the internet as you are in the real world.

Offbase? I think "bawan' may have picked that up from my earlier post where I said perhaps Offshore should be called 'Offbase'. He was indeed off base with his stated lack of respect for anyone who has died, and his comments about Hitler, Stalin, and terrorists was 'off the scale'. Would have been better if he had just ignored the topic.

In my eyes Emre has certainly not performed to the standard I was expecting but that could be because of the players around him and their lack of expected performence too. Perhaps being on the pitch with the new additions brought in by Sam could bring out the best he has to offer and that could be what we are looking for by way of a creative midfielder. I'm sure Big Sam is fully aware Emre has a certain degree of talent and may want to exploit it if he feels it can fit into his plans and formations. Let's face it, Emre has not proven himself to be a complete dud as Luque did, and he will be with us getting paid until at least the January window.

Going to the Everton match with a Scouser
Noelie replied to Dr Kenneth Noisewater's topic in Newcastle Forum
Dear Doctor K. The likelyhood of attracting unwanted attention from anyone be they idiot or no is obviously a paramount concern in situations like this and I can understand the misgivings you must have. On searching for a viable solution I have arrived at the conclusion that in circumstances such as this it behoves you to instruct your companion to keep his gob shut so no one will suspect him of being an enemy. -
STEVEN TAYLOR has turned down a new five-year contract
Noelie replied to Sever07's topic in Newcastle Forum
There is definitely truth in that, Zoggy has shown he is decent at left-back and better in his favoured position. Being a natural left-footed player there can only be Enrique and Babayaro pushing for left-back and Duff for his favoured position. As for Milner, with Nobby gone he seems to be the only right-sided player we have to play wide right. And he can also play wide left but I don't think he could unseat Zoggy on his current form. -
I understand he played the full 90 minutes in the Turkey v Malta match so at least he must be fit.

My interest in the England team and its fortunes has always been high on my list of priorities, second only to Newcastle United, and when a Newcastle player is in the starting line-up my interest increases. Although Owen missed a couple he should have got, he scored a cracking goal like the Owen of old.

Not much thought given and certainly very tacky to say the least.

If we keep winning or not losing (more likely)..
Noelie replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
Mr.Gemmill; I think it's rather sad that you demean yourself by saying you'd settle for "shitty winning football" and that you "don't care how we play". However; I've grown a little tired of us having lost so many games since Sir Bobby's departure, especially to the poorer teams in the league so, I must admit that I'd settle for shitty winning football too, and I don't care how we play as long as we are winning, and keep winning. -
STEVEN TAYLOR has turned down a new five-year contract
Noelie replied to Sever07's topic in Newcastle Forum
Seeing as how Zoggy has just signed a new contract I'd be interested in seeing how it compares with what Tayls has been offered. They're both young, both have great potential, but both can be affected by the new signings and returns from injuries in regard to their future playing time. -
Bollocks, he's fucked off for the best reason in the world, to be closer to his children. There is no better reason than I can think of. His wife left him for whatever reason and took his kids to London, more power to Nobby for wanting to be nearer to them. No way, "Bollocks" is the fact that at his time in his career he couldn't have put it off for a couple more seasons. Nobby was one of my favourites but he's let us down by moving. Using his kids as an excuse is poor, as if he/they couldn't commute for a couple of years? It's that attitude that's fucked up a load of footballers these days. So you're telling me if your family was at one end of the country and you were at the other and there was a job that paid just aswell right next to your family you wouldn't move? Fuck off, man There's other things to take in to consideration - loyalty and the length of a footballer's career. I can see what you're getting at but it seems like a pointless upheaval to me for 2 years in the grand scheme of such a short career. Loyalty to who. The people who pay your wages, the people who cheer or boo you, or the children you brought into this world? The length of a footballers career can prove to be a damn sight longer than the lives of some children who leave this world through sickness, accidents, even murder. It's a question of priorities in a person's mind isn't it. In Nobby's mind he's done the right thing for his children and he's to be commended for that. If all talk about Nobbys personal life is true, his wife wouldn't have fucked off down south in the first place and he would not be going running after her. Nobby has been my favourite player for many years now and easily the most technically gifted player we have had in recent seasons but (again if true) why shouldn't we think we have been shafted out of one of our best players by his off the park behaviour. I don't think he is running after her, I think he wants to be nearer to his children and I can't fault him for that. I have been somewhat in his shoes and know where's its at. I was split from my first wife and she had custody of the children. I was offered a very lucrative job with a boat company in Italy but turned it down as there was no way I was going to be too far away from my kids who were with me every weekend. Funnily enough, after been divorced for 4 years I got custody and became a single father, sometimes things work out alright. I've always been a great admirer of Nobby as a Newcastle player, he's made some off the park mistakes but he hasn't left us for money, gain, or glory as some do. I'm sorry he's gone but I think he left for the right reasons.

... that's what I thought too, very strange What is "too good" and "very strange" about starting a new topic?? Especially one that expresses your thoughts and feelings that you want to bring to attention and not be buried in page after page of diversified comments in an "official match thread" After all, no one is obliged to, or duty bound, to read or make comments to anything posted on this forum.

In my opinion I think McClaren was a bad choice to begin with, did not have a very good track record as a manager, and had little to offer other than he was cloned in the Eriksson mold. I think he will be around a while as the powers that be seem to have a history of not admitting to mistakes and are reticent in taking action to correct their mistakes.
