  2. He is annal' me duck, Midlands, but I guess it's where you draw the line between the North & the South. Coming from Gateshead I once was a Durham lad. Then I was from Tyne & Wear cos they changed the line. Now I'm not sure where I'm from, South Tyneside maybe? I wish they'd stop moving the lines.
  3. Parker is a good player, was good when he first came and then went off the boil. Sam may be able to get him back on track. Duff has talent but has fizzled like a damp squib for us. Maybe Sam can light his fuse. Taylor has potential to be a good central defender but needs help. Sam may provide that help by way of a good partner. Martins could be an excellent striker for us. Perhaps Sam can sort him out. Milner has real potential. Maybe Sam can get him to cross the ball better more often. Carroll could be the next Shearer. Maybe Sam can bring it out. Butt is good butt is getting on. Maybe Sam has a potion to extend his shelf-life. Given, well he's a done deal. Sam couldn't wish for a better keeper.
  4. .......I want you to do right away. (1) Get shot of Luque once and for all. (2) Get rid of Gooch. (3) Get rid of Ramage. (4) Get rid of Pattison. (5) Get rid of Carr. (6) Get rid of O'brien. (7) Get rid of Babayaro. Next thing I want you to do right quick is bring in, (1) A good left-back. (2) A good right-back. (3) A better than good centre-half. And then I want you to, (1) Sort out Zoggy or show him the door. (2) Sort out Martins or show him the door. (3) Sort out Emre or show him the door. (4) Sort out Bramble or show him the door. Then I want you to determine if Owen is staying or going. AND, I want you to do all this this by July 31st. 2007.
  5. Well I thought some bugger would pick up on my 'Beach Boys' intro and plagerize a bit but maybe it's too long ago for you young 'uns. Wouldn't it be nice if we were 'bolder' Then we wouldn't have to wait so long. And wouldn't it be nice to 'win together' In the kind of world where we belong. You know it's gonna get much better When you can say 'howay' and stay together. And so on..........................
  6. what about dubya Noelie? Warrabootim ye ask, ye wanna git me deported
  7. Both did not have good track records. Both were clueless. Both weren't the handsomest of chaps. Both got you angry. But Roeder seemed a nice enough person. And Souness seemed to be an arsehole. So I would have to say Souness is #1 on my hate-list.
  8. I would have to agree with that consideration, I found it mind-boggling to see Patterso and Damage in the starting line-up, and was amazed to see Martins was missing.
  9. Well I can't argue with that as I've never watched a game, and even when Beckham joins the local LA Galaxy I won't be drawn to watch. Mind you I hope the MSL flourishes and stays around for a long time as I feel the States need a professional football(soccer) league for the youth players to have something to aim for, however history has proved that importing 'foreign' players can't and won't guarantee success and longevity. For example, in the 1970's-80's we had the NASL but the likes of Best, Pele, Cruyff, Beckinbauer, Beardsley, Marsh, Banks, Tueart, Francis, Johnson, Eusebio, Deyna, etc and many more name players from around the world couldn't keep it afloat more than a few years. Oh by the way, Sam Allardyce played for the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the NASL as did Rodney Marsh.
  10. SO, is Martins injured? Why has Damage started before Gooch? WTF is Pattison doing on the pitch? Why isn't Zoggy even on the bench? If we lose this one, and we just might, can't blame Roeder can we?
  11. You must be Wacky junior, first time I saw Howey when on a visit home I said he would play for England one day. He showed class and impressed me that much. The fact he was born in Blunderland doesn't necessarily make him a Mackem, there are people born in Newcastle who are "Mackems" But you are right about his consistancy though, he never really reached the full potential he had shown as a young lad.

I'm not prone to defend the "wankers" in fact quite the opposite but you have to consider that Soccer is considered a nick-named version of Association and that in the United States the 'Wanks' have their own game of so called "American Football" I delight in asking Americans why they call their game "football', pointing out that in actual fact an entire game could be played with the ball only being kicked twice. Once at kick-off to start the game and once to start the second half. They should come up with another more fitting name for their "football", such as "spackerball", thus freeing up the term "football" for proper football. The wankers. "Spackerball" nah, I've often thought it should be called 'American Rugby' as it has far more similarities. Egg-shaped ball, touch-downs, kicks for extra points, same goal-posts, carry the ball in their hands, tackles, drop-kicks, and they can make lateral passes if they want to.
  13. C'mon, how often would that happen at St. James' based on this season.

  15. Worst possible? Well that would have to be Gazza with Five-bellies as his assist-mangr, and with Shepherd's track-record it could be a likely appointment.
  16. .......wish Glenn Roeder good luck in whatever lies ahead of him. Let's be honest, he had to have tried his best despite many obstacles and sadly his best wasn't good enough to bring any success to Newcastle United. I don't think he asked to be made caretaker-manager at a time of crisis when Shepherd sacked Souness with no new manager on the radar-screen but he was man enough, perhaps foolish enough, to take the wheel when we needed someone, anyone, on the bridge. He certainly made many blunders in many areas, he certainly had injured player problems which we were all aware of, and he certainly wasn't given the same financial support from Shepherd that Souness was. I don't think he can be entirely faulted for the number of times we were subjected to under-achieving so-called "stars" who were canny on occasion but rubbish more often. SO, now that he's gone let's give him a little respect and perhaps some thanks for giving the job his best shot even though his aim was poor and way off target. It's just too bad that he didn't perform half as well for us as he did when he was our steady centre-half.
  17. To be fair, Roeder shouldn't get all the credit for the piss-poor season and piss-poor performences albeit his lack of vision and and management skills are definitely suspect and certainly contributed a great deal to one mess of a season. The players in general were themselves part and parcel of a season-long problem created by lack of consistancy in their performance, lack of ability to defend half-way decently from game to game, lack of ability to score goals when the chances were there to be taken, the lack of ability to control and use the mid-field when they were actually in charge of the middle. I certainly think Roeder should be replaced, and I certainly think a large number of current players should be got rid of.
  18. If this 2-0 home defeat doesn't end Roeder's inept reign, what will?
  19. Aw c'mon Papa he looks fairly clean when I see him on the telly, doesn't always shave tho'.
  20. I think a close-cropped hairstyle changes the look of a man quite a bit.
  21. The feathers from a dodo I heard Ye've got yer ear to the wrong key-hole Wacky, dodos were extinct before I started using a quill.
  22. It's not that simple!! Duff has spent a lot of time on the injury list giving Zoggy opportunities to prove his worth and he just hasn't done it for whatever reason. Usually a bench-warmer can't wait to be given an opportunity to prove he should be in the starting line-up, might even see it as a blessing for him if someone gets hurt. Monday night Zoggy was awful when he had another opportunity. Maybe his problem is contract negotiations not going the way he or his agent wants.
  23. How come? when I come it comes quietly. At your age I'd expect it to be more of a dribble, to be honest. Well if that were true (and I'm not saying it is) just think what you can expect when you get to be my age.
