Oh dear Mr. Gemmell I think I'm going mental The last time we won the Big League I don't think wee Hughie Gallagher was even 5ft7 and it was a long-ball game. Left & right fullbacks, centre half-backs, were expected to welly the ball down field, clear the line and not ponse around. Centre-forwards were fed on a diet of long balls albeit they were NEVER alone up front. I'm old-fashioned by way of thinking that 5 forwards was not a bad thing when the defense were wellying long balls. I'm not advocating the long ball nor am I advocating 5 forwards, but I'm never happy if we have less than 3 forwards on the field at the same time.

The lads were playing quite well in the first half albeit we went down 2 0, passing the ball about quite nicely, lots of possesionn yet not really threatening in front of goal. Defence playing quite well bar those two goals, but WHY the hell did Roeder make those changes?? I can see the sense in putting Zoggy on for Babayaro, BUT WHY THE FUCK DID HE PUT LUQUE ON when we're down 2 nowt. That was a No-Brainer, when you are down two-nothing you need to put on someone on whose full of piss & vinegar and Luque is far from that, he couldn't punch his way out of a wet paper-bag. And WHY THE FUCK did he use his last substitute? that too was a No-Brainer and resulted in us playing with 10 men. I now have serious doubts about Roeders capabilities

When you have talented players performing well, when your midfield is dictating the script, when you are totally dominating the game from start to finish, when all things are going your way, when the opponents have no answer to your superior playmaking, then I think it's PATHETIC if we can't win.

When yer camped in front of the main gate and have the enemy under siege for the duration ye should be able to claim a victory, a draw is not a victory even if you take home the spoils. The troops need to take some gunnery classes so they can at least get off some shots.

Just another typical Newcastle game. When they go forward they look dangerous and our defence looks shakey. When we go forward we don't look that dangerous and their defence doesn't look as shakey. We were under the cosh too much, gave away too many balls, and at times the back four were a shambles, and we couldn't hold the ball up enough when we had pocession going forward. A less than satisfactory performence but a great result.

Just call me sadsack then 69, if and when I go on holiday, which is usually when I go back to Geordieland, I go alone. My wife is from Derbyshire and doesn't particularly want to visit the Tyneside and follow me around visiting MY friends and relatives and going to the places I want to go. I couldn't care less about going to the Midlands and going the same route SO, we take separate holidays and it works out best, especially for me as I've got more people to see and places to go and I don't have to worry about no ball & chain
