Well I never, both our strikers missing penalties.(ok so Ba got the rebound but he missed the penalty shot) Sammy shows a lot of effort and promise but he lost a lot of balls tonight. Tiote needs to go on loan to the Circus so he can be tamed by the lion-trainer.. Cisse wasted 2 golden opportunities you wouldn't expect him to.

Too many back passes, too many unecessary back passes to the keeper,, bit disappointing result in a game we should have won.
-
Twas a lot better when they wore shorter shorts.
-
Wish I could feel the same but I can't help this sinking feeling as it drags on.

I really wish this 'Geordie' thing was put to bed. This banks o' the Tyne or Newcastle criteria is bullshit when pointed out how many well known 'Geordies' don't fit the bill. Legendary Jackie Milburn was from Ashington, so were Jack & Bobbie Charlton. Sir Bobby Robson from Sacriston, Alan Suddick from Chester le Street.. They came from far and near but in folklore and in the minds of people, ever known as 'Geordies', and the list goes on.

Given that perhaps Elliot shouldn't have let that one in, a draw was a fair result.

I doubt that we would pay Carroll more than the highest paid player we already have but with the likes of Smith Guthrie, Best, and Lovenkrands off the payroll we could bargain with Carroll for what he would be willing to acccept if he really wanted to come back. As for transfer fee, that would have to be hard-ball negotiating by the powers that be, and how big a cringe-loss would Liverpool settle for.

A friend called and told me to check-out 'FirstRowSports' on my computer. I did, and watched the Monaco v Newcastle match live. He said you can watch all games on this site and it's free. However, I don't know if this is available in the UK or anywhere else but it's ccertainly available in California.

No, actually my sister and I were taken in by my mam's twin sister and her husband and we stayed with them even after my dad came back at the end of the war.. Not look-alike twins and in fact triplets, but one died at birth.
-
If your parents went to school during the war they would probably receive a written message from the King in 1946 as I did. I still have mine, framed ond hanging on the wall.

That he was, Royal Artillery at first, stationed at an ack-ack site on the south coast then transferred to the RASC and went ashore in Normandy attached to the Guards Armoured Division.

Well let's see now, almost 7 when it started, evacuated to Yorkshire in September 1939, heard the King's speech, sick mother died December 1940, of shock caused by enemy action. Came back from the evacuation in 1941, went to school part-time. In Yorkshire learnt how to milk cows, snare rabbits, and wipe my arse with a dock-leaf. Searched the gutters for shrapnel and spent cartridge cases. Slept under the stairs when the air-raids were on-going. Did many things PaddockLad.

This match wasn't a matter of life or death, it was worse!! We're talking about losing to the the Huns/Krauts, albeit they're 3rd division or not. There is something about losing to German teams that doesn't sit well, maybe it's my age and memories.

eeeeeh aa'm crossin' ower the pond this Fall as weel ......... aalreet Autumn. With a bit of luck, and I'm usually lucky, I'll be at the Spurs and Villa matches. I'll be 'home' for a month but sadly there is only 2 home games whilst I'm back.

Downing is 27...........28 in July. Hardly part of the new generation.
-
Perhaps, but maybe not the youngest starting eleven Gerrard - 32 Terry - 31........32 in December. Cole - 31 .......32 in December. Parker - 31 .......32 in October. Lescott - 29 .......30 in August. Johnson - 27... ....28 in August. Young - 26 .......27 in July. Rooney - 26 .......27 in October. Milner - 26. Hart - 25.

We were shit once again. The Wops were all over us like a wet blanket. We couldn't hold onto the ball, we consistantly gave it away. The only good thing I can say is that defensively we held on for grim death in the face of an overwhelming onslaught. In respect to Hodgson, in preparation for the next World Cup he should jettison the old guard and start grooming the young bloods, NOW!!
-
We were shit!! It's silly to claim we weren't. They looked better than we did, they played better football than we did, they had more possession than we did, they had more chances than we did. We ever looked like we could win but we did by scoring a lucky goal and them having one denied that was definitely over the line. Nevertheless I'll take the win as shitty as we were, I just hope we're not as shitty against the Wops on Sunday. .

Wot the fuck!! ..... you saying I should stay on the ground cos I'm 79?
-
Jose can you see...................obviously down the pecking order.............. didn't play against Chelsea, and sat on the bench for 90 minutes in the last game of the season against Swansea............he can;t be happy.

Noelie replied to Andrew's topic in Newcastle Forum
Oh well, miserable finale to a great season and you can count on Newcastle for that. Disappointing display but winning would have done nothing for us anyway except give us more good feelings. Looking forward to next season ............ if I can stay above ground. -

Nee idea.but Noelie's Tavern in Anaheim will be open at 6:30 PST and yer more than welcome if ye can arrange transportation. -
Pisses you off, wot aboot me!! With an 8 hour time difference a 3 o'clock kick-off is 7 o'clock in the morning for me here in California which isn't too bad, but a noon or 1:30 kick-off fucks up my much needed beauty sleep.

I think a significant change in the game brought on by TV is the way players are punished for offences they commit during a game that are viewed on screen after the game is long over. I can't fault TV or Cyberspace programming when I am able to see every Newcastle league game. I have to smile when I see "No TV coverage" in the UK yet it is on TV here and if not on TV then on Fox Soccer 2 Go website. The Everton game is to be on my computer, Fox Soccer 2 Go, for which I pay $20 a month.

This old gadgee has only one passion in life anymore and that is football. Newcastle United is my No.1 passion, and England is No.2 and I have no real interest in any other team but I will watch other teams because I love football.. I am proud to be a Geordie, Howay Newcassel. I am proud to be English C'mon England. Those not arsed about England have the attitude akin to those who lost us the Empire. To quote an American of long ago; "My country, right or wrong"
