  1. Telegraph table says still 15th. So does Daily Mail table. BBC table says 12th. Who's right??
  2. I'm old and getting older, my memory's dim and getting dimmer, but I can't remember any Newcastle match I have ever seen that had two so un-like halves. First half we were decent and took a 2 goal lead. Second half we were utter shite and hard to believe we slumped away with 3 points(for which I'm grateful). Pardew's changes were absolutely shite driven, he doesn't have a clue on making substitutions. Mind you it was refreshing to see he didn't put Obertan on. From the second half kick-off it looked like we were going to do another Reading and lose after leading.
  3. Sacre bleu, looks formidable but I can't help feeling a bit bothered cos there isn't a British player on the pitch.
  4. Perhaps that's true Doctor, but was only tweaking ideas and only used players available so didn't consider Tiote, or Sissoko who hasn't signed as yet. I think Santon could be another wide left player like Jonas only with better last touch deliveries.
  5. Did a little tweaking on your selection, wot d'ye think?
  6. Any truth in the rumour I hear that Colo's wife left Newcastle in a hurry because she had found out he was cheating on her, and Colo wants to go back to Argentina because of this? Bit far-fetched that he has suddenly become homesick after being away from home for so long and after signing a new long-term contact with us.
  7. A valueble point but it didn't stop us sliding further down the table to 16th. Obertan, Jonas, Williamson, contributed little or nothing to the game. Williamson is nothing more than a pub team hoofer and he can't always keep it on the pitch. Jonas' final touches were rubbish as usual and he wasn't the dynamo we came to expect. Obertan, well I just don't know why Pardew can't see by now that he just doesn't fit. Santon was decent but not at his best. Colo put in a decent shift and who knows if it will be his last in a Black n' White shirt. Cisse was almost anonymous due to the lack of decent service and support. They played better than we did overall and we never really threatened to any degree.
  8. My concern about this game is ............. Hughton. He'll be wanting his lads to help give the finger to Ashley for getting rid of him.
  9. Mr. Fish will no doubt criticise me for this, but I I had been in Pardew's shoes I would have given Campbell a run out at some point in the game, perhaps in place of the Lone Ranger. The fact he was on the bench tells you he was under consideration. With so many young players starting Pardew should have started Marveau to promote more balance among them.
  10. No surprise here, game littered with careless flicks and passes. Little or no creativity and another loss. The exit of the lethargic, lumbering Amoeba seemed to do us a good turn as we began to threaten more in his absence. Pardew's tactics are highly questionable, the Lone ranger is useless without Tonto and Tonto is in the happy hunting grounds. If we wait long enough Obertan might prove Pardew's faith in him is justified, but I don't think I'll be around that long. This is not a Happy New Year so far and we're only 5 days innto it. And what's more I had to get up at 4:30 in the morning to watch this crap.

    Demba Ba

If I saw it correctly, I didn't see Cisse do the prayer-mat thingy after he scored against Everton. Perhaps that had been a Demba Ba showpiece that he felt obligated to follow, and now he doesn't. Be interesting to see if he ever does it again now that the Demba Ba influence has gone. Come to think about it, Demba Ba is the only Muslim player I have seen do the prayer-mat head bowing after scoring a goal,, and there are a lot of Muslim players in the Premier League.
  12. You know, upon reflection I think if I had been in Pardew's shoes I would have recognized Perch's frailties at right back and given Tavernier a start in that position and put Perch where he plays best. I would have played Cisse in front, not that lethargic Stroller. I would have had Obertan off earlier and put Fergusan on. Don't think I would have started Obertan. Sannton and Fergusan might work together better.
  13. Over the years I've suffered depression vritue of how bad we are playing; but this situation is worse. Are there any members of a suicide club still around who could provide me with information I could pass on to some of our players and management?
  14. Heartbreaking! And to make it worse Blunderland won and moved above us. Not a game I had any expectations of winning but for periods of time hopes were high and it was more than disappointing that we couldn't have hung on for at least a draw, we deserved it after that performence. So close and yet so far.
  15. FFS!! I was beginning to doubt we would win. Them 3 points might just have saved Pard8ws tenure. Performence was nowt to write home about but at least we won. Strollers goal was mint.
  16. Can't help but have a horrible feeling we'll lose this one too, I hope not.
  17. Played quite well today but there are still weaknesses in the back 4 and we leak easy goals because of them. Anita was much improved today, he can put some good balls in from set pieces. Jonas continues to be a very energetic damp squib. Ba and Cisse don't seem to be very good at dribbling past men or holding the ball up the way Shearer could. Don't know if I've said this before, but it seems like the marking I knew in my day is a thing of the past and that has a lot to do with why we leak goals. If I had to mark someone I'd be up his back and in his shorts, even follow him to the netty. It's fine for defenders to jockey, but it shouldn't be in a back-pedaling manner allowing opponents into the box, it's what Simpson does all the time.
  18. The Lads played quite well against Man.City today, a big improvement over recent performences. However, I can't help but feel that if we don't get all 3 points against QPR on Saturday Pardew should probably have his 8 year contract modified, even nullified.
  19. Norwich in 7th. place now, bring back Hughton.
  20. You might not be as glad if you had to get up at 4:30 in the morning to watch these early games like I do.
  21. It's becoming more depressing when we control most of the second half but our strikers can't find the net. Willowanker was responsible for their first goal, it would have been better if he had just stood still which he is good at. Colo for the second, he was on the wrong side of his man. Cisse is looking more and more like a dud. Him and Ba are just not proving to be a formidable strike force. Jonas works his arse off every game but there's hardly eve anything to show for it other than he gets a lot of free kicks. Wilson should be sent to a school that teaches how to cross a good ball more than once in a while. Santon is becoming more and more of an attacking force to be reckoned with. Shola ........... huh!! Tiote had a great game ................... didn't get a yellow card. Anita was a little better today but he does seem light-weight. Krull kept the score down with some good saves. Overall we played a bit better than we have been of late but as always it's goals that count and we're not getting enough. We could have/should have won this match but how many times have I said that.
  22. Bit late in my comments but I had things to do. When I saw Pardew's starting line-up I thought it wasn't too bad and we should make a game of it, and we did but 2 defensive errors cost us dearly. It was a game we should of won and when we scored I thought we just might. Krull's kicking distribution has become woeful. No good going on about Willo, he's in the wrong league. He tries but he just doesn't put in enough good shifts. He stood flat-footed when they got the equalizer. Tiote was a bit of a liability today with his losing and giving the ball away. Anita is lightweight, not sure if he's going to make it in the premier league. Ba and Cisse up front as our strike-force just isn't working. Stoke always looked more dangerous going forward than we did. Jonas is nowhere near as good as he has been in the past, works his arse off but little to show for it. Santon? well I don't miss Enrique anymore. Colo put in a good shift but could be faulted for one of their goals. Wilson!! was the same as ever with his crosses. Perch had a decent game.
  23. Another dismal performence and to be truthful I expected it and was confident we would lose to a bottom three team. I'm not suggesting Pardew should be sacked but I do reccomend Ashley should be searching for a replacement. Why would Pardew put Sammy in when he had such a rubbish last game. What did Pardew expect to gain by putting Perch in with 3 minutes left of stoppage time? The woodwork was probably our best goal stopper today!! Ba & Cisse had as much striking ability as two spent Swan Vestas. I'm mad as hell, I'm too old to be suffering this much punishment.
