  1. ahh........Noelie. Those times under the board you criticised were really shit weren't they ? ahh........LeazesMag. Pray show me my criticism of the board....any board...that as you say I criticised. Get your miner's hat on and start digging.
  2. Let's look on the positive side chaps, this loss; .......... Minimizes the overall number of games to be played by at least one. Minimizes the odds on incurring injuries by at least one game. Minimizes traveling expenses had we won and been drawn away in the next round. Minimizes by at least one another nail-biting white knuckle match. I won't go into what this loss maximizes
  3. Quite frankly I don't think there should be any stoppage time, 90 minutes in duration and what happens in that 90 minutes is all part of the game be it substitutions, injuries, barneys, or chasing a dog or streaker off the field. One minute of stoppage time seems ludicrous(although goals have been scored in the minute), and sometimes I see the sign going up for 3 minutes in one half and I wonder where the fuck did those 3 minutes come from cos I didn't see any stoppages that could amount to 3 minutes.
  4. I'm curious as to whether Freddie Shephard was at Sir Bobby's memorial service, but then maybe he wasn't invited. I'd like to know just how many old players were in attendence, ones who had served under Bobby for club & country, but of course by invite only could limit the numbers.
  5. If the text report on BBC Tyne is accurate we are not doing that well albeit we are in the lead. According to the text they are having more possesion and for a combined total of shots On/Off goal they are outshooting us by 8-5. I hope this is not a true reflection of wots gannin on like.
  6. I have to question Hughton a bit on this Blackpool one. (1) I'm an old-timer who goes along with the adage "Never change a winning team" so why did he drop the 'Lone Ranger' and put in someone coming off an injury?? (2) Granted one change had to be made because of Smith's suspension. (3) But why Butt as a replacement rather than Lua-Lua or someone else with legs, energy, and pace?? (4) Is he reluctant or afraid to blood young lads?? preferring to go with very experienced old cart horses who should may belong in the knacker's yard. (5) And why does he persist in playing a lone striker who has no one to play-off to or play on-to when there is no creative midfield to provide service??
  7. I fully expected a little prick would burst the bubble in Cardiff, but it didn't happen. I did not expect the bubble to be burst in Blackpool, but you can always expect the unexpected with Newcastle.
  8. Could swear they said it was a sell-out crowd but I saw quite a few empty seats. I suppose there is a difference between sell-out and actual attendence. Kinda like all the tickets are sold but nobody shows up.
  9. Great goal by Colo, brilliant result, but a miserable fucking display for the last 60 minutes.
  10. Why do you beat around the bush peasepudd'n, couldn't you have given him a straight forward answer?
  11. Aa canna agree wiv ye bonny lad. It maybe spelt 'Howay' but ivvory time aa've hord it said it soonds like 'Haway' an aa've bin aroond a lot langer thin most. The Geordie dialect has always leaned towards a hard 'A' when spoken so it makes sense that a Geordie would say Ha'way as opposed to Ho'way. For instance:- aad - old. aaful - awful. ahad - hold. ahight - high. amang - among. and of course 'aa knaa ye knaa' .......so I believe it's Ha'way the Lads.
  12. No, I didn't get to see that one Craig. Didn't get to go to every game for one reason or another and that was one of those you wished you'd never missed. 6 goals in his first game.
  13. You are being delusional silly sod. Until the league has progessed further there can be no idea of what stengths the other teams have. You can't go on last seasons performences as in all probability they have been more active than we have during the transfer window, and we are wafer thin in some areas and injuries could wreak havoc for us as we are experiencing now to some degree. Cardiff will be a real test for us and you just know Chopra will be out to sink us. what a negative mind set you and a few others on here have - you think these are tough times ? You shoulda been supporting throughsome of the shite in the 70's and 80's. Of the thousands of people registered on here, you managed to go and aim a comment like that at one of the few that saw Milburn play for us.... what a tit you really are! Not only 'wor Jackie' Craig, but Charlie Wayman, Tommy Pearson, Bobby Mitchell, Ernie Taylor, Frank Brennan and Joe Harvey to name only a few. Even saw Stubbins and Shackleton before they departed.

  15. We are going to lose. How do I know that? Because we have a long history of losing when other results have gone in our favour. Cardiff lost, Boro lost, West Brom drew. If we should win(and I don't think we will) we'll go into a 2 point lead. A draw would give us the lead on goal difference. But if we lose the team we lose to will move ahead of us by one point and we'll sink down a place. We don't have a good track record of taking advantage when other results go in our favour. Gawd aa hope aa'm wrang like.
  16. First match I have NOT seen in 2 full seasons. Saw the first 2 of this season on Setanta. This one wasn't on Setanta and I couldn't get a stream and had to listen to a radio commentary. What I wanna know is how did that Simpson look on his debut?
  17. Sadly that's very true, any given player can be playing pretty poorly throughout the match but if he scores 3 goals, regardless of the calibre. more than likely he will be MOM. Scoring goals has always seemed to boost a player's performence, often overshadowing the performence of other players who have put in a far better days work.
  18. How can you even say something like 'Beyond the 3 goals' with a straight face when you're on about a striker? Dear me. It's a bit like saying 'Harper did nothing apart from making four world class saves'. Not that I agree with the assessment anyway since, as others have pointed out he could have had more. Also, if you had a clue you'd realise Shola has taken quite a few penalties for Newcastle, often under pressure, and to my knowledge, hasn't missed one for the first team. OK OK, I'm clueless, why can't I see that every minute he spends on the pitch in any game he looks like the natural born striker throughout? Maybe my clueless and demented mind has been twisted and warped by all the negative things I read about him from other members and I should learn to judge his performence through my eyes. OH, my apologies for not knowing he has taken quite a few penalties.
  19. I have to agree with the scaley one Mr. Fish. Beyond the 3 goals(one of which was a penalty which he probably would not have taken if a hat-trick wasn't in sight) Ameobe was no better than he usually is which is NOT being the sharpest knife in the drawer. Enrique looked comfortable on the ball, made some good runs forward, but unfortunately his finishing touch leaves a lot to be desired.
  20. In California, live on Setanta via DishNetwork. Disappointed Hughton didn't give Ranger a run-out, surprised he put Cisco in instead.
  21. In regard to the on-going drama in the Toon, surely getting rid of mediocre high-wage players may sound like a good business idea at the moment but how will it affect the sale of the Club aspect. When Ashley first put the Club up for sale didn't we have Owen, Viduka, Martins, Lovenkrands, Edgar, Cacapa, Beye, Bassong, and Given? Now they are all gone leaving the team somewhat weaker which can hardly be a selling point. If Duff, Enrique, Jonas, and Colo also leave it will certainly lower the wage bill but will also lower the Clubs prospects of success and that is hardly a selling point. The longer this drama goes on the the selling price can only be lessened. The absence of a manager is ludicrous at best, any new owner could get rid of any manager already in place just as Ashley did with Allardyce. I think the absence of a manager is purely a save money issue. Ashley and his cohorts are doing all the wrong things to make the sale of the Club seem attrctive to prospective buyers. I could write a novel about the stupidity of Ashley and his business associates. If he sells Duff he may make a few bob and lower the wage bill but he will also decrease the value of the Club in regard to experienced players.
  22. According to the menu on my California TV the match is being shown at 2:00 PM on the Setanta USA channel
  23. NO, you wait Jimbo, wot the fuck were you doing hiding in a kids changing room? Better be a good answer.
