And the other 10%?

Well todays the day. Big cuts expected in the services that most need them, I reckon hospitals will be untouched however emergency services pay could be cut. Things such as elderly care, disabled support, meals on wheels etc will all be slashed I reckon. As for those of us in the Public sector it could be a massive day. Talk of 5% pay cuts plus an increase from 1.5 to 7% in the Pension contributions stacks up to a 10.5% drop in wages. For your average Admin staff thats going to be a drop of about £2.5k per year or £200 per month. All of that is before the austerity measures that everyone else has to go through also kick in so any increase in tax, NI, VAT, petrol etc could easily see many civil servants being £300 per month worse off. To many of us thats the difference between supporting your family or not. Thousands will leave the Public sector and move to jobs in the private, that might sound like a win/win, reduce the costs of the Public sector even further without making any payouts but theres a downside of course, if they are entering the job market then there are less jobs available for others and therefore the dole queue increases. Thats on top of the reduction in service that an exodus will bring. For everyone else, expect to see a number of stealth taxes being introduced in NI and PAYE as well as the obvious increases, yet at the same time the possibility of Labours 50% highest tax band (those earning £150k or more) being cut to 45%, no surprises there then from a Conservative government. The inclusion of NIC Holiday is another red-herring which, if as popular as last time it was introduced (1998?) will result in a deficit of millions between what it achieved and the cost to implement.

sauce? Id be amazed, a quick look at the map of areas and most have "good" to "excellent" availability for tickets. Dropping a further level and looking at sections of the ground and in some places around 20-30% of the seats appear to be available. Ive just had a quick look and for one area of the Gallowgate marked as "Limited" on the map there were 76 free seats out of 620 in the section, thats 12.5% available in an area that is Limited, how many are in the Excellent bracket? -
Belated birthday greetings from me

eggsfuckinsactly. Sad that I am Ive worked this out based on 2009/10 prices (couldnt find anything for 2010/11). Into it Ive added my own view on the numbers sold but I have used quite sensible maths in the rest using the following assumptions. In the bars (Platinum, 1892 and Sports) then the split is 70% adult, 30% OAP. In the standard areas its 60% adult, 20% OAP and 20% Junior. Family enclosure, 45% adult, 55% Junior Where ST sales have dropped then theyve dropped across the board and across the sections/ bars. Season ticket sales, Im estimating that these will drop in total to 35k, if you then knock the 6k off that are 3 year you get around 29k (rounded this upto the extra on the actual 45k value therefore 29,751 STs sold this year at an average price of £450.96 = £13,416,448.27 Footfall - I reckon these will start at around 11k but drop due to weather, results and opposition to approx 6k therefore I think an average of 8k per game is realistic. For the average price Ive taken the ST price and added 20% on then divided by the 19 games and then applied it across the Adult, OAP and Junior numbers. Giving an average price per game of £34.40. This gives a total of £4,509,578.93 So I think that the total income from ticket sales is more likely to be £17,926,027 or rounded to £18m which is £12m short of your estimation. I dont think we actually have 100 corporate boxes, Id guess 80 and last season about 20% of them were empty, with cutbacks etc Id estimate that we'll sell about 50 so if your view of £30k per box is right then thats £1.5m 25k programmes per game? you're having a laugh arent you? Id guess somewhere between 5 and 10k so lets say 8k. As for booze and food, make that £1m if you're lucky. Outgoings: Player wages are still supposed to be around the £40m mark not £25 as youve wildly quoted. I'll go with your views on the cost of other staff, booze etc (because I havent got a clue on that) so thats £11.5m All in all, Im guessing you're about £32m overestimating there. -

Fucking hell, I especially enjoyed the food and booze estimation. Every single person in the ground at every single game will spend an average of £4.05 per match on food and drink!!! Admittedly thats a coffee and mars bar but still -
None of them seem to have the Internationals though

Just to resurrect this thread, anyone have a set of World Cup team shirt icons?

That belief was not reasonable. He was slightly dark skinned and on the tube so they shot him. They gave him no opportunity to put his hands up or surrender. And has been pointed out, it's irrelevant to anything. There was slightly more to it than that (and Im not saying they were right here). He came out of a block of flats where a known terrorist suspect was staying. Police had the belief that this suspect was going to carry out a suicide bombing and on seeing him they believed, wrongly that it was the suspect. They then acted to prevent what they believed to be a bombing. Right idea, wrong target. A terrible mistake but something that shouldnt be mistaken with randomly shooting an innocent man.

It's not in the public interest to name them imo. Most of the people seem to be happy that the dead have been cleared of any wrongdoing and that Cameron has issued an apology, in fact they're very pleased with the PM's words. IIRC the soldiers were originally going to be named but got a court order to guarantee their anonymity, still doesn't prevent them from prosecution and the DPP is going to look at the report. lets hope they prosecute the murdering scumbags Adams and McGuiness too then. Somehow I doubt it though. Why are so many people so keen to point the finger at security services on so many occasions like this, and not the real scumbags ? Fuck off you old twat. real scumbags? if by scumbag you refer to murderers and killers of the innocent then you must mean the British army. hmmmm we could start listing the many, many innocent men, women and children killed by the IRA while going about their daily business but I guess they dont count do they?

Have a geet good happy birthday mate

Yes it does. We signed Shearer for a World Record fee at the time, do you think we had the cash lying around? did we shite, we borrowed it and used sponsorship money to pay for him. This whole bollocks put about by Ashley on how bad it was to use the NR money paid at the start of the sponsorship deal to buy a player is exactly that...bollocks. What else would you have preferred was done with it? put it in the bank and gain interest? pay it off some other loan? Still at least those days are gone, now we merely mortgage off payments we havent even received yet to cover an overdraft we never should have had in the first place.

Times are hard, the countries desperately in debt and yet again another Tory voter looks to fiddle the system. Fuck right off, notice the words right course of action. You want to sell your belongings and give it all to Cameron, feel free. Right course of action in this case being "for yourselves" not the country, how many free school meals could have been purchased with the tax paid on that property? 5 4 3 2 1

Because it means all of their success was built on an unsustainable business model. Which taints their achievements. It taints their achievements aye. It doesn't complete negate them though. That's basically what I've been saying anyway though. You're the one saying you judge them on where they finished up and the mistakes they made. I'm arguing for a more balanced overview. I don't think spending future income to achieve a couple of seasons in europe is anything to shout about at all though. In fact I think there's a few decent premiership sides that could probably go down that route now but choose not to, and that's why they were above us when Shepherd left. Ahhh good old hindsight again, tbf Shearer, what a waste of cash he was too after all we won nowt when he was here
