  1. Ashton is better all round player than Zigic, however Zigic being just short of 7ft would fit right in with Roeder's long ball tactics. If Roeder is still here in the summer he'll be after Crouch IMO. And Ferdinand
  2. Which ones do we have at the minute that fit into that category like? Carr. The problem with players like this is we sign them up on big contracts, only to find out a year down the line that they're past their best and because they are on big wages we're stuck with them. Justin Hoyte would be a better option from Arsenal. Babayaro falls into the same category. I think you may be completely right about Neill, he's the sort of player that we seem to attract - big wages, no ambition.
  3. I was thinking about it today - which players would you take from the clubs that look like they will be relegated? Ashton, Neill, Upson and Young are the ones that came to my mind.
  4. If we have any ambition, we will start looking for a new manager now, get him in before May and offer Roeder a job on the coaching staff or with the Academy. Sticking with him as manager means settling for mediocrity.
  5. Jenas scored as well, fuck off.
  6. I used to be against the idea of Shearer coming here as an unproven manager, but I'd take him now.
  7. Two good full-backs are an absolute must.
  8. Interesting article. The point about Sir John makes sense.
  9. The wanking over Berbatov is getting absolutely ridiculous.
  10. A few thoughts. Van Gaal is an utter fucking mong. I wish someone would take his ridiculous briefcase and shove it up his dirty Dutch rectum. I haven't felt this pissed off since Lisbon. We were fucking abysmal from start to finish, we created fuck all apart from Dyer's chance from the free-kick and Martins one-on-one at the death. Sibierski shouldn't be given a new contract, full stop. Huntington was out of his depth, but you can't blame him for that. I blame our so-called first-choice left-back, a poor excuse of a footballer who couldn't even be arsed to declare himself fit for what was the most important game of the season. Oh, and Roeder, maybe pumping up long balls for 90 minutes isn't much of a game plan at all.
  11. I liked this one: How philosophical! It is going to be a very long 90 minutes tonight...
  12. 1-1 now. I would love it, love it if we met Spurs in the final and beat them.
  13. 1-0 Braga! Not that it's going to make a difference. There's always hope though.
  14. That's exactly what every single one of his posts comes down to, and he doesn't get it!
  15. Aye thats very true. We should point at the French instead tbh. Or the Swiss.
  16. At least you got the spelling right for once, seeing as your mate's a mackem!
  17. Thank God I wasn't the only one who supported Chelsea today.
  18. Re: Bramble, there's another reason why I wouldn't give him a new contract: Every single time he has one of his better spells, he gets injured and is out for at least two months. Seeing as he seems to have been playing well recently, it's bound to happen soon. The cycle goes something like this: 1. Plays badly, everyone wants rid of him 2. Form picks up, NUFC manager stupidly talks about Bramble for England 3. Is injured for two months 4. Comes back and plays badly, everyone wants rid of him 5. Form picks up, NUFC manager stupidly talks about Bramble for England 6. Injured for two months Repeat ad nauseum.
  19. I only remember the probably greatest last minute goal ever to win a cup in extra time! I don't think a match will be moved whoever the opponents are. I never understood why everyone seems to love Spanish commentators and their stupid "Gol" shouts. It's just downright stupid.
  20. £60,000 a week and still no decent haircut.
  21. Everybody was rightly saying that Alkmaar are very good away from home, but we've not so badly either on our European travels over the last few seasons. I'm quite optimistic. Would be good to have Sibierski back though.
  22. Very entertaining match. Martins and Dyer were superb, Solano had a very good game as well. If only Martins had scored when he was one-on-one in the second half.
