I swear I cannot stand another summer of Roeder talking shit in the papers on a daily basis and then delivering nothing.
-
The point about Allardyce being an ex-Mackem is ridiculous. I'd rather they used the influence they seem to have (on public opinion, that is) to help Roeder get the sack instead of implicitly backing him.
-
Who cares if there's a moral problem? Everyone knows Shepherd is a hypocrite, a liar and an idiot, this is not going to change people's opinion of him.
-
Conspiracy alert! Royals have bastard son sent to Iraq to get him killed!
-
Good to see Oliver keep quiet about Roeder/Allardyce though. That has to be a good sign.
-
Aye and I think Roeders injury list has been significantly worse (although it got bad under Souness too - in fact it's been bad under every manager I can think of really). Although I can't see Roeder setting the Premiership alight next year, but equally I can't see him getting us relegated either, assuming he's still here. I can. Mid-table is the best we can hope for under Roeder.

Sadly, as with Bowyer, there will be plenty of people who will think he's a good signing.

Allardyce set to become Newcastle boss by May 14
Bombadil replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
I don't know about you, but I'm quite excited - that's three different papers that are running a story about him today, meaning there is at least a chance there may be some truth in it. It will be really interesting to see what Oliver says today. I fully expect him to ruin the excitement by sticking up for Roeder and saying that "the Geordies wouldn't welcome a man who has turned down the Toon twice". -
"You wanna dag?"

My uncle used to have one of those very early mobile phones/car phones whose receiver and transmitter or whatever it was took up almost the entire boot of his car.

He didn't have that chance son, Liverpool weren't prepared to pay or put up the money needed that would have took him back to Merseyside. That and Benitez made it clear he didn't want him. HF's point still stands though. Owen is going to be clinically depressed if Liverpool win it. I think Owen will start next season with us, but if he doesn't leave in January (remember he won't be cup-tied for the European cups), he'll leave in a year's time.

Babayaro. What a complete waste of space.

It still makes me laugh everytime I see it. Not that it's funny.
-
He probably decided he was interested in Kuyt when he saw him convert his penalty last night.
-
Are you Oliver in disguise? I didn't know Wes Brown was foreign.
-
I pity the club that gets taken over by Souness, he'll probably appoint himself as manager.
-
That's right, £4m in compensation! Who's laughing now?
-
Owen is probably watching this and cursing himself for leaving Liverpool in the first place.

I rather attribute it to the consumption of alcohol during the World Cup. It was ridiculous how willing the mixture of sun, alcohol and football made loads of women during the big public events. I'll call them the Beer generation... Good, I can't wait for Euro 2008!

For what it's worth, I hated Souness more than Roeder. At least Roeder hasn't got a dozen mates in the media telling us what a great job he's doing and how we should be giving him time etc. I'll never forget Souness' bum chum Hansen's "humble pie" article either.

Speed has been made first-team coach at Bolton. Lee Clark or Gary Speed, I know who I'd rather have on our coaching staff.

The Guardian seems to think he is not in the Thai consortium's plans.

I don't agree with that. All Allardyce would have to do would be to have the club moving in the right direction. That's the key imo. That might be the case for a season, maybe two, but FFS isn't the most patient of chairmen (that's one of the main things Robson credits with allowing him to build his Ipswich team, time and money, with the chairman basically showing support but keeping his nose out of the football - I suppose a bit in the mold of Gibson or maybe even Quinn). If, for example, FFS was chairman of Everton Moyes would have been sacked long ago (and there's several other examples I can think of) I mean can you really see him appointing someone on a 10 year contract with a 10 year plan (al la Allerdyce at Bolton)? Shepherd listens to public opinion. If people see that a new manager gets things moving in the right directon on and off the pitch, they will be patient. Shepherd only starts panicking when public opinion turns against the manager or indeed himself, which it rightly did with Souness and which it rightly does now. Just look at Spurs. Their fans have seen for a couple of years now that their club is moving in the right direction. They don't expect instant success because they know they're on the right track. We're not.

Some of the stuff he comes out with is David Brent-esque.
