Steve McClaren sacked as Newcastle United 'Head Coach' (Manager)
NJS replied to Tooj's topic in Newcastle Forum
Sad thing is as soon as I saw the team last night I knew what was going to happen - "keep it tight" for half an hour, concede then make increasingly panicked subs in an effort to make a difference. It could have been under any of Allardyce, Kinnear, Pardew or Carver. Nothings changed. -
Not yet will do so at the weekend. Thing is there's enough material to probably take more than one season per book but at the same time I'd like them to get the story told without it taking years if that makes sense.

I've been watching that. First TV or film I've seen for ages where I've read the source material so sort of know where it's going but still feel surprised. They've reflected it well so far.

Only read bits about Cruz but he strikes me as a nasty piece of work.

What funding "downs" as an arsenal fan? -
When I see CT picking a team I always think back to his enthusiasm for the team that lost 7-3 at Arsenal. I'm an enthusiast for attacking football but fuck me, that level of nativity is going a bit far.

Doesnt that make it just the £32m spent on replacing Ben Arfa? Would have been a lot cheaper (and more popular) to shoot Pardew and send the fat bastard to a health farm.

Whatever you think of how big a cunt Trump is, the look on his face when he realises how batshit she is is quite funny.

Someone I know decided the defendant was guilty as soon as they read out his address as Sunderland.

There's an argument that "marriage" has a legacy definition as a patriarchal institution based on property etc. I can understand the argument but I think a registry office marriage ie without any religion attached can be self-defined any way you like.

I passed second time and I'm under no illusion that I'm a good driver as I'm prone to wavering concentration. Doesn't really matter so much now as I rarely drive long distances.

I thought Mbemba was slightly off balance and almost stumbling which led to the pass being weak. Don't think he was fouled so if he was falling he should have hoofed it.

Roughly - around the Adam & Eve /Frederick St. It was where the Yemenis settled and where the mosque is (where Ali had his wedding blessed).

He lived in Laygate so not that unusual.

My first away game was boxing day 79 on the supporters club bus and I went to the rest of the away games that way for the next two and a half seasons. I met a few lads who travelled from South Shields some of who became life long mates and I also met Cliffy. We also used to get the train to the home matches before the metro started and Cliffy was always on there. The bloke didn't have that much of a life I think but it's no cliché to say he lived for NUFC and he certainly spent all his time, money and effort on making sure he made the games. He was always easy going and willing to talk to anyone about the team. Even after not travelling with him for years he always recognised me and said hello when we bumped into each other when I still went. Maybe it's a sign of me getting older as well but my first thought on reading of his death was that it's a shame he didn't see us win anything. It's also made me sit here thinking about all the years I've spent hoping we'd do it and also about all the familiar faces and friends I've met along the way. RIP Cliffy.

Who'd have thought buying good footballers would pay dividends?

Wouldn't get excited about OCS but Shed Seven and The Bluetones are both excellent live.

Was just going to post that he was great in Dogma. RIP.

Had a bad feeling when I saw it was Dean and that the currupt cunt from the derby was the 4th official which was justified. Still think there's the making of a decent team in there - need a finisher though.

I said I liked it - I just wanted more explanation - I've watched it again since.

I've always thought he was a canny player with a lot of potential but was put off by his scouseness (ie association with the club rather than upbringing) and thought we should have been in for him before now. I'm slightly put off now by the bad attitude stuff I have to say.

Bit like the Beatles to me - I recognise the stature and influence but his music did nowt for me. RIP

3 years after sandy hook he's moved to do something 10 months before he's out of there.
