It's not so much that they broke the promise as a consequence of compromise in a coalition - it's the fact they they specifically planned to do that before hand while making it a core pledge. I'm sure there were a people on here and a few on N-O who said they voted liberal on this issue alone - more fool them.

We need to ship you off to House by the sound of things. Glad it seems to be getting better though.

The day Barton puts as many disgusting tackles and elbows in a game as Gerrard does every week or even as many as Fabregas did last Sunday I'll accept I'm biased. If you're including off the pitch antics then I'd say that but for a Scouse jury, Gerrard would and should have got a longer sentence than Barton.

As I've said before, if I had access to Sky's video archive and a few days, I reckon I could expose the shit that players like Rooney, Gerrard and most recently Fabregas get away with without a word on a regular basis. It's not even just Barton - Babayaro got done a couple of times for off the ball things which I don't mind as long as everyone faces the same sanctions. I'd put last night down to him being wound up by facing Allardyce - though I accept he still has a "dark side" under the surface.

said before they starting acting up like the workshy cunts some of them are [but not all of them]. But they do have a point. This is just the start. Considering the fuss MP's have made over their own scams over the years being found out.....now they are going to hit all the people who use public services to pay for the mistakes caused by bankers etc [see MF's post above this one]. It's all a bit rich, and very wrong. Typical Tories. Trotting out the speel that "we are all in it together"....utter crap. I remember Lawson [or Howe, or whoever was Chancellor] saying that inflation and unemployment were a price worth paying to sort out the economic mess when we were paying interest rates at 15%. Nowt changes with them. In a year or two, when these cuts have bitten, this govt is going to be massively unpopular and also typically Tory, they won't understand why. Anything but an increase in income tax, because THAT is what hurts themselves and their political allies and friends. Norman Lamont.

Pissed off with recruitment agents who claim to have put you in for jobs and then you don't hear from them for a week. At the same time hopeful after having a pint with an ex-boss on Monday and him promising to try and sort me out.

One of those macho cultures that wants to scream "we have no puffs" and more so wants to believe it - really fucking sad.
-
Never wear one though I don't mind those who do. Celtic fans have a fair point but I still think its wrong to state it so blatantly - among all the genuine sacrifice the fact that the British army are the biggest cunts in history is undeniable imo.

Bigotry upgrade waiver.

Just looking at the next few games I'd take a booking on Wednesday to miss Fulham - probably the game he'll be least missed. I'd hate for him to miss Chelsea or Liverpool.

Fully deserved because we played very well and defended/battled brilliantly whenever needed and took our chance when it came, to Wenger its not deserved because they had more chances and hit the bar twice, though he did say we played well and was more hinting they deserved a draw. But football's about taking the chance when it comes and we did! I must admit to biting at Wenger's "they only had one shot on target" quote - so did you, you ill-jacketed cunt.

I love the way the rest of them have cottoned on to the fact that he's always available and never loses it. The last player we had who I was as confident of taking a ball even if marked was Rob Lee.

It seems topical to talk about class so I can't help commenting how classless Fabregas was today - nasty, whinging and diving all day. Did anyone notice his off the ball "collision" with Barton just before the swing at Carroll that as mentioned should have seen the twat walk?
-
I just fucking love how much the cunts on sky have to give us credit through the most gritted teeth in the universe. Fuck off you cockney, dirty, cheat loving cunts.
-
Compare Bruce's attitude with Reid's who when asked about the Monkey's heed thing said he "fucking loved it".

I called the T-Mobile call centre a little earlier which is in Mackem land. I spoke to a woman who sounded like she was in her 50s but there was still a little voice in the back of my head saying "Start screaming 5-1 at her" - just managed to resist.

He was always on a hiding to nothing going there though. Even if his "Geordieness" is tarnished by Manchester he has always played on it ("I'm coming home" etc) and even tried the "I followed Newcastle when I was a kid" routine in the run up to the match. He must know that even putting derbies aside, his "identity" will be the first thing mentioned at any kind of slip up. The derby just magnifies it. I'm not old enough to remember Stokoe's first spell at SAFC but I assume it was never mentioned he was Newcastle through and through. It's hard to think of an equivalent possible appointment for NUFC - even Allardyce's SAFC association was never used against him.

I read it but rarely post - I find the bile (and occasional wit) amusing.

Liverpool appointed Damien Comolli director of football

Didn't he get a lot of stick for signing a long list of shit players? It's topical to give him credit for Bale but I'd like to see the rest. -
Like GW Bush? (Put the initials in as an afterthought because "like bush?" was a bit OT)

Wonderfully sick - sickest for a while.

Before Sunday, my "objection" to Nolan was that I thought (and still think to some extent) that he isn't a very good footballer - "all" he does is score goals so my view was that if you take away those goals he wasn't contributing much. I know this is an argument about players like Lineker and maybe Cole which sounds daft but is valid to some degree (moreso for midfielders). However I think on Sunday he did impress me more as a footballer which I'm happy to see. I also think the view that Tiote has made him better is spot on.
-
Watched the MOTD2 highlights a bit earlier. They did the classic where they showed all of their half chances to try and show "balance" which completely distorted the truth. Also glossed over how dirty the bastards were.

Alright Lads, First post so lets get the minds thinking.

I'm in the "Barnes wasn't bad" camp - Rush on the other hand was absolutely shite. -

Scott Sellars instead of Milner for me.
