  1. I think in cases like this the club should be able to show some balls and ask the EPL to review the ref's performance linked to the 4 or 5 key incidents (including the FK they scored from). I'd love to see Hackett give a view of all of them and even say "Of the 5 he got 4 wrong which is unacceptable". I know this sounds bitter and petty - I remember us playing Birmingham a couple of years ago and the ref not sending off Savage for a second yellow in the 90th minute and the commentator saying something like "what would be the point?" - the point would be make sure he was punished and not to cheat the team they were playing the next week out of him missing the game. I know we won't get the points back but surely everyone has an interested in getting people like Dean out of the game.
  2. I noticed yesterday Kinnear was whinging about high prices saying we wouldn't pay them - preparing the way for no signings imo.
  3. The new Ian Woan was what came to mind for me.
  4. I've got the book of that lying around somewhere but didn't get drawn in by the start so I put it down - might go back to it.
  5. I honestly thought before today that his distribution was improving - maybe he was just giving it off to Enrique and Beye and them being missing fucked his "thinking". I'm not that hysterical when it comes to him - I think most of the time he does his job quite well despite what people think but boy was he fucking abysmal today.
  6. The Golden Compass - not that bad an attempt to capture the book but still unsatisfying - a word for how fucking fantastic Ms Kidman looks. Beowulf - liked the style but felt it was too short and again I felt it could have been a bit better - a word for how even more fantastic Ms Jolie looked - I have to say that entering a Faustian pact which involves shagging her and having a dragon for a son fires my imagination no end.
  7. Like everyone else he was shit but if I was him and had idiots expecting me to chase shite Butt chipped balls into the channels instead of playing to my strengths I'd be pissed off as well. He also created a good chance for Owen early in the second half.
  8. I keep being told Kinnear's done a great job. I don't agree.
  9. Similarly anyone who doesn't conform to the incredible standards set by some fans are labelled terrible and a waste of money etc. etc. simply because some fans need to vent their frustration about a performance and it's easier to do it to a player, than to the team. Robert was villified despite being an incredible source of goals and creativity for the team but didn't track back, now Jonas is getting it because he tracks back but doesn't create as much as we'd like. It's a bit deluded if you ask me. Don't get me wrong - I think he's a good player who will do better but the acclaim he has received so far has been over the top. It never bothered me that Robert didn't track back - I felt he let himself down by occasional disinterest/fairyness.
  10. But illustrates that Pompey are in freefall.
  11. The jizzfest over him is what we used to call McCreeryitis - if someone in a black and white shirt "gives 110%" and "gets stuck in" they are worshipped to a ridiculous degree beyond their actual ability/usefulness. Edit: see Warren Barton.
  12. Add Steve Bruce and Duff to the death list.
  13. Especially putting the Pompey result into the context of how utterly wank they are. Hang on - hope yet
  14. Who is the this cunt co-commentating on the stream? I actually want to kill him more than Ashley/Kinnear/Dean/Taylor/Heskey,Cattermole or Butt.
  15. What's the agenda and who pays for cosmology research which I think is the magic bullet when it comes to showing up religion?
  16. Where the fuck is Jo? - absolute dross.
  17. I've always thought Berbatov was over-rated - and that was before the £30m - decent player but couldn't help noticing how he always had a niggle which stopped him playing at our place.
  18. The most we've heard from him is when he was overheard by punters in that bar in Dubai saying he was going to wallop KK. Objection, your honour; unsubstantiated hearsay. Which tbf he didn't deny in a statement.
  19. The only slight thing I have against him on the injury front is I got the feeling in 06 that he took him time coming back deliberately to be fresh for the world cup and I couldn't help thinking if he had had a few more games he wouldn't have fucked his knee. I'm willing to admit that's my Newcastle is everything/England is nothing viewpoint coming through.

It's not pay rise or bonus time for us but I did get a nice email off the chairman thanking me for my efforts (with an undercurrent of be thankful we aren't screwed).
  21. The thing is TI I'm all for free speech but people who hold responsible positions have to consider that responsibility when giving an opinion. Despite the supposed infallibility/link to God a pope has a shit load of advisors who are there to either help him put opinions correctly or to do what they should have done here and politely tell him his comments will be used against the church. I saw one comment on the Guardian site which had a different angle - the pope was basically stating that humans are either born/created male or female and that's it. Now putting homosexuality aside the scientific truth is that they are not - transgenderism can be an innate feature of someone which then suggests that once again the church is denying science. This in addition to denying that homosexuality is natural - as seen elsewhere in nature. You know my position is to delight in religious fuckups as it almost does my job for me but at the same time if I was a member of the church I think I'd have the right to ask him what the fuck he was thinking of - in that I almost feel sorry for ordinary decent catholics.
  22. That's certainly why I've only been to two games so far - though my seat is still being used.
  23. Always felt the same about Shearer/Lennon (though I still think Graham Kelly made up the Shearer quit threat).
  24. Slight point of order but the L7 Milburn (non-family) prices were actually reduced. Fair enough. I didn't realise although that does ring a bell. They were pretty expensive poreviously too iirc. I said at the time that it was a case of hats off to Mort/Ashley - I think they judged that area as part of the changes and realised we'd been overcharged in the past.
