I used to live not far from the sea in S. Shields and spent a fair portion of my childhood at the beach - all my life I've had recurring dreams about a tidal wave hitting there with the added cliche of not being able to run/walk/get away (I now know from the Asian one you don't exactly get much of a chance anyway).

I have a brother and sister 10 and 8 years older than me which led to me being treat a bit like an only child (or a spoilt bastard as my sister describes it).
-
On the whole I like Germaine Greer and some of her points are valid* imo but the timing is crass. *(I think he did go out of way to meet "dangerous things" so "he had it coming" isn't that far from the truth)

Theres some serious basic education problems in too much of Africa which isn't necessarily the countries fault but could be helped. I remember reading that the last time there was a solar eclipse that rioters in Nigeria murdered 20 christians cos they thought it was Allah's wrath.

The circumstances are "strange" but I have no objection to the lad making decent, positive noises at the start.
-
So people want the club thats won the most to win more? Bollocks.

One of my favourite films but I don't recall any descent love scenes? Apart from someone being forced to hump a pillow. 193304 Since he may be thinking of Ellen Barkin maybe he meant The Big Easy. In "proper" films I'd vote for Catherine Deneuve/Susan Sarandon in The Hunger.

Just under 300 miles for me if I go by road (Chelmsford) - technically more if I go by train which involves going via London. My preference is to fly from Stansted (25 mins from my house) but sometimes its too pricey. I only went to two home games last year (+ the SOS) but used to do all weekend home games and intend to do quite a few this year.

Typical Aussie - and I mean that in a good way - his enthusiam was so "full of life" - what a shame.

Even if it is true, to say it publically is nothing but crass stupidity yet again and another PR disaster! 191834 True but the only surprise to me is that he didn't phrase it as "the geordie nation" would have been dancing in the streets. I think he an Oliver share a mindset where the people who turn up at the signings (the "nation") swallow their "Geordie" vision to the last stottie cake. See his reaction to the Hitzfeld thing - the last thing that would occur to him is that intelligent fans had looked about and identified a good candidate (whoever that may be) so it had to be outsiders attempting a betting coup. In his world we're all unemployed morons who are ready to hit SJP in our strips which we wear 24/7 at a moments notice for the world to see - God knows how he thinks we can afford STs.
-
I'm in the despicable but true camp. Shepherd and Hall before him see us as wallets to be emptied - the fact that it feeds his ego when 15k mongs turn up at a signing is just a bonus to him.
-
The same places Roeder did in his attempts to sign Neill, Huth, Knight and Bridge. The first 3 could have been attempted a lot earlier to allow time for to and fro bidding and persuasion - thats what is pissing me and a lot of other off.

1 Boss was away so had an easy run down of a Friday afternoon (after a furious morning spent cursing Microsoft) 2 It took me 3.5 hours to get home as opposed to 35 minutes due to One Railway fuck-ups 3 I have an extremely runny nose 4 I'm going to the gym tomorrow for the first time in 3 weeks (due to previous cold + Reading festival) so expect to be sore and tender on Sunday. 5 Off to bed but have set a load of porn downloading for tomorrow.

When the news broke my first thought was that he was a defender - I thought he was a right back - my mistake - anothing fucking "attacking" midfielder. I agree with Gemmill - 2 guilty men have written off our season. .

To quote Paul Heaton: "If she was so against landmines then why didn't she visit the british factories where they're made - ah yes, no photogenic brown babies with missing limbs" I hate beatification of the dead - she was a self-serving, manipulative, parasitical bitch. I also think that Elton John should be hanged for crimes against music for Candle in the Wind.
-
A lot of reactions seem to forget about Martins - if this was our only striker signing then off the deep end responses would be fair enough. I'd liked to have seen something else but I don't see too much wrong with the deal per se.
-
Possibly, but that ignores FS's failure as well if Roeder gave him a list.

I missed the monday after the 98 cup final - told the boss the truth the next day - spent all weekend drinking and didn't wake up until 4pm on the Monday afternoon.
-
I went to Reading and stayed in a hotel - not middle class, just old and soft. Catmag you could still look classy in wellies I'm sure - I found denim skirt/ green welly ensembles strangely attractive this weeked... Highlights were Muse and Pearl Jam.
-
The most ironic thing about the SMB for me is the number of "plastic mags" and "pre-1992" jibes when apart from about 5 of the posters I doubt any of them either stood at Roker or had pubes when they did so. John Kay FFS.

Spent most of the day putting minimal effort in due to pre-holiday couldn't be arsedness. Found out a possible work trip to Singapore which was looking doubtful is back on the agenda Disn't have any dinner so had Fish & chips for tea. Off to Reading tomorrow. Watching the match at home with a couple of cans.

Stop this feeling sorry for them shit right now. All I ever need is to picture Rat Boy in the rain.
-
I find it funny that they seemed willing to forget the 18 months not trying and £1m departure tax when he knew they were skint and welcome "the legend" back but now he's instantly hated again.

I love the way they were within 4 years of champions' league glory with O'Neill at the helm and of course we were all shitting ourselves. Wake up and smell reality you bastards!!
