Can anyone think of a serial killer that has been released?

Since Jack The Ripper, criminologists say there have been about 100 known cases of serial killers around the world, including one of modern history's worst murderers - Pedro Alonso Lopez, known as Monster of the Andes.

Lopez is thought to have butchered more than 300 young girls in Colombia, Peru and Ecuador throughout the late 1970s and early 80s.

He was arrested in 1980 but was freed by the government in Ecuador at the end of last year and deported to Colombia.

Surely it's not right to name him at this stage?

That's what I was thinking. Even if they don't charge him, mud sticks.

On the one o'clock news they said "police haven't named him but he's believed to be..."

ie he's a 37 year old bloke from the same villiage near ipswitch as that 37 year old bloke who went to the media saying "I'm a suspect, I think they're going to arrest me"

Either a pre-emptive defence or maybe just a prick who loves the attention, looking at his photo it could be the latter. ;)

So have they caught him yet?

There was a thingo in the paper today about how Interpol (not the band) have joined in as they think he skipped over to mainland Europe.

Dodgy fucker, tbh.

Should be arrested for that hat tbh.

Glad they've got someone though, just hope its the right guy for both his sake and any other girls in the area.

Was on the news that this cunt has got a myspace page, and he works in a supermarket, so how come the media are able to name him but the police aren't saying who he is? Thought the media weren't allowed to expose his name?
