My hotel was full of the fuckers dressed in the worst merchandise I've ever seen, I was worried a stray static electricity spark might take the whole building out. There were loads of irish and cockney accents too, glory hunting twats. Once again the atmosphere at Anfield sounded pitiful from where I was too, I'd be interested in Craig's perspective on this.

The atmosphere was shite tbh. Even during YNWA they were drowned out by our fans. The only time they got vocal was when Barton was sent off and that was only down to the fact he was shaking his head and applauding the fans.

We have just as many if not more people willing and able to go to watch Newcastle than you do, you can't sell out midweek as your support is 40% local, 60% glory hunter. When you were struggling to 35,000 under Houllier and below us in the league we had 52,000 every week and 20,000 and a waiting list, now we're down to a hardcore of 48,000 watching dismal shite. If this was you you wouldn't get 25,000 and you know it. If you include glory hunting wanks sitting watching their TV's who have never been to Anfield or even Merseyside, your national support would be 3 to 4 times bigger than ours, your real support is without question no bigger. That's getting off my main point though, which is scousers are cunts, and I think it's hard to argue with that. As for you being a two team city. I could list over 100 comments that have been made about Newcastle fans down the years, the best ones are from Liverpool men, who ALWAYS compare us favourably with you. The best one was Hansen I think who on our return to the Premiership thought we'd go down, his opening comment and I remember it vividly was "If trophies were given out for supporters Newcastle would win the league, fa cup, league cup and european cup, but it isn't. Never been to one of these mythical European nights there but the atmosphere is shit in the league and that's a fact. Worse than Old Trafford. Worse than Highfield used to be even. Probably even worse than Stamford Bridge. Oh and not a patch even on Goodison. This is coming from someone that actually quite likes Liverpool the club and city too, so I've absolutely no bitterness to be biased about. More than any club, Liverpool FC has been destroyed by glory hunters, but in a way that's just a measure of their success I guess.

PS we have never struggled to 35'000, think that Portsmouth game was a one off for Premiership games, and corerect me if I'm wrong but we've never had an average attendance below 40'000 in the premiership.

 

Anways am sure you'll pluck some random figure out that makes one of your disciples come out and say 'you've been Stevie'd' so I'll bump this thread some time next season and see what your having to say for yourself when your hardcore crowd is revealed to be a lot smaller than 48'000 in the chamionship.

 

It's dickheads like you who give the scousers a bad name. The decent ones out there don't feel the need to come onto another team's forum and start playing they we're 'mightier than thou' card. They're well aware of the great position they're in.

 

I sat amongst a sound bunch of Liverpool fans on Saturday who were quick to point out how passionate our travelling support was and that there'd not been a crowd anywhere like that all season. They also doubted that if Liverpool were in the same position we're in, whether they'd fill the away end of a stadium where there was little chance of getting anything.

 

You don't think we'd fill the ground in the championship? Well I hope we don't have to prove it but I very much think you're wrong. We've been there in the last 20 years and I seem to recall (McKeag boycott at the 1st match aside) our attendances were pretty much the same as they had been in division one. Given the fact you've not been in that position for over 50 years, how can you even begin to comment on how Liverpool fans would react?

Never been to one of these mythical European nights there but the atmosphere is shit in the league and that's a fact. Worse than Old Trafford. Worse than Highfield used to be even. Probably even worse than Stamford Bridge. Oh and not a patch even on Goodison. This is coming from someone that actually quite likes Liverpool the club and city too, so I've absolutely no bitterness to be biased about. More than any club, Liverpool FC has been destroyed by glory hunters, but in a way that's just a measure of their success I guess.

Absolutely correct. Their support was never as good as ours, but The Kop in the 70's was largely scouse and won them games.
