Think I am the only fan who thought he did alright in the last game, still showed his typically frustrating moments but also played a part in practically every chance we had. Have said since he signed, he is fine as back up/competition for Barton but if he does leave (which he did obviously) then we need to replace Barton. That hasn't changed so far, it's not Obertan's fault he has been thrown in the deep end with no obvious choices to play on the right wing as you pointed out in your post above. He may get better but sticking with him at the moment when the crowd are reacting the way they are to him won't help him at all. The reaction is certainly unhelpful but its there now so it's better to deal with it and give someone who might possibly do something positive for the team a go. I honestly think the solution with Obertan may be to just cut our losses with him and flog him to whoever will take him ASAP. He's slow (yes he is), can't pass, can't cross, can't shoot, can't head, can't tackle, has a shocking workrate and worst of all has zero situational awareness or footballing brain. Then he'll get some fantastic pass, run to the byline and fuck it up (Cept against Stoke that one time). Managers who arent in the Mourinho mould need to add a rule to their dealings.
