So looks like this deal will be done. I wonder then if that will signal the end of Simpson or if he will stick around.

Wouldn't mind him sticking around for cover/rotation but I think Pardew might see him as expendable with Perch, Tavernier and Santon all being able to play there.

Yeah plus I think he wanted more cash that we didnt want to give. If he has one year left on his contract I could see him sticking it out this year then leaving for nowt.

I think he'll be away once this is finallised. He's a decent enough player for the lower reaches of the division but not good enough for where we are at the minute/where we want to be.

He'd be excellent cover but he believes he's better than what he is so he won't hang around for that and tbh I think Raylor and Perch are competent enough for that and Tavernier might be better than both of them.

I'd prefer to get rid of Simpson, would be shite cover for neither RB nor CB and he'd definitely still play wank in games. I think he gets too little well deserved stick tbh, a dogshit player and nothing more.

Fixed.

The term ITK should be banned on here. Noone on here or majority of twitter is ITK.

I am best mates with Dekker. In fact, I am in the casino club, so I am definately ITK. ;)

hope Simpson stays for cover. Would be great as a squad player for next season.

Personally think we should get rid, even if just for £1m, as he'll walk for nowt next year, Raylor and Perch enough cover there, and we save on his wages. Also, the way he has gone on i'd be wary of him being disgruntled and upsetting squad harmony. just my opinion though

I think he's been virtually a model pro and always gives 100%. Would definitely love to see him stay but no doubt an offer will come in and they'll take the money.

Who's going to clear them off the line against Man U next year????

Quick translation:

Lille: New offer from Newcastle for Debuchy

THE SPORT 10 | 01/08/12 | 22:30

As announced yesterday by le10sport.com, Newcastle sent a new offer today in Lille for Mathieu Debuchy.

It has been revised upwards. While the first proposal of the Magpies was 6 million, including bonuses, it is this time of 6 million strong, with a percentage for resale to the LOSC. In this way, Newcastle is approaching the amount desired by the Lille president Michel Seydoux, who was 8 million, excluding bonuses. As it is, nothing has filtered the response of the Yankee club.

With the percentage for resale, it is certain that Newcastle is more or less the bar set by the LOSC. But there is no evidence that the direction of Lille will do the same analysis.

Response in the coming hours.

Yankee club?
