What was that line Ashley trotted out the relegation season about betting on a top 6 finish?

The cunt probably got unbelievable odds on us being relegated after finish 5th last season.

You know what...that has a horrible ring of possibility about it...!

Best price available was 14/1

Some bookies were only offering 8/1 before the season started.

Currently 7/1

EDIT: Mackemlogic dictates that the only place to get that information was from RTG btw.

Sky Sports understands that Newcastle United are moving closer to signing Loic Remy from Marseille.

It is understood that Tottenham are ready to make a late move, but it seems that will be too late to stop Newcastle from finalising a deal.

Graeme Bailey reckons its been done over Pardews head

What does that mean? Pardew was not aware we were bidding for the player? He doesn't 'do' transfers so 'over his head' must mean he was the only person with at least a passing interest in us who didn't know we were in for him.

They'll offer the same as we do and he'll pick them over us, because they're more attractive club then we are. You can't use money as an excuse all the time, you sound like Everton fans and Demba Ba.

A few stories knocking around newsnow this morning: Loic Remy deal agreed and expected to sign this week, Tomkins priced at £10m though still expected to become a Toon player and West Ham have noted Newcastle's interest in Cameroonian Gaetan Bong and have sent their own scouts to watch him. Incidentally it always amuses me when Fat Sam or Saggy Face Redknapp are touted as expert talent spotters when it seems to me they just watch to see who other club's with better scouts find then try and sneak in an interest themselves.

looked at a few comments about Tomkins and the Hammers think it would be good business to let him go (they really dont seem to rate him that highly) and FSA is apparently looking at Distin as a replacement...10 million though? he's worth half that, maybe.

Harry said in his press conference this week that he spoke to Remy when he was at Spurs and he wanted to come....then when he wanted him for QPR the player refused to even meet him  Begs the question how he ended up with a waster like Adebayor instead....probably a better deal for Arry himself ;) As you say, a lot of shite spouted about Redknapp et al, but theres no doubt he can spot a player iyam. If Wenger's sniffing around too I think this lad must have a fair bit of talent.
