Also remember when you could jizz onto your wife’s face from the other side of the bedroom? That stops too once you’re married

I'm a hospital porter by qualifications but have you seen paper mask? .......

I remember the days I could blind Mrs Rents from 30 yards with a jizz bolt.

Is that something hospital porters do to pass the time on their break or just part of the job description?

I'm having a cataract removed today - I was diagnosed with them in both eyes two years ago but one needed doing so I got it done  and the other was "as and when" but I noticed  my vision was getting a bit worse in that eye since the start of winter.

This is how this place ends isn't it?

Gemmmill "ooooh, me pace maker went on the blink again, had to get a new battery put in"

NJS "Eeeeeh, I'm blind as a bat me, hope those new corneas work...."

Alex "Aye, me knee replacement is top notch"

Wykiki "'kin t'hell. Ave tha seen tha waiting list for t'hip relacement? Tory cunts"

Etc.

Old, decrepit, falling to bits. Using forum technology which the kids can't believe doesn't belong in Beamish, moaning about Tik Tok and FFP until space year 2050, then silence.

I had my Pacemaker replaced a couple of years back as it happens. Last one lasted about 9 years (off a 5 year battery) and this one has a 15 year battery, so I won't be going ANYWHERE!

I had a motherfucking MRI last month, bitch! And I'm still going.

All of the warnings everywhere about if you have ANY metal things in your body etc. There was a 1 in 1,000 chance that something went wrong cos of the PM. I wouldn't be surprised if it DID go wrong and I'm still here.

  • 1 month later...

Anyone know anything about damaged shoulder rotator cuffs?

Just over two tears ago I fell arse over tit in the street on the way to work ( tripped over a covered electrical cable to an outside covid cafe extension) and I damaged my shoulder.

I saw a physio a few times who gave me some exercises and after a few week it was fine and never bothered me.

At the start of April this year I increased the frequency of gym visits from 1 or 2 maybe 3 times a week to virtually every day, though still on very moderate weight settings and started to get a bit of pain in the same shoulder.

Then I had my cataract surgery and because of it not settling down as quickly as the last one I sat in my arse for 4 weeks.

A couple of weeks ago I was told it was okay so went back to the gym but after 4 or 5 visits my shoulder was really painful.

So I stopped the gym and returned to the rehab exercises but I'm not sure there helping - they provide some relief but also cause it to be very painful in the morning.

I'm going to go back to the physio this week but I was wondering if anyone here has any experience of the same rlthing...

Sorry to hear that, sounds horrible. Haven't got much advice, other than my understyaning is long-term physio is unlikely to be beneficial.

Did you take any legal action against the cafe?

I've got one that's fucked on the left hand side. No impact injury or anything, it's just become dysfunctional from years sitting at a desk.

Same story as you, I've got a bunch of exercises, if I stick to them religiously it's mostly OK.

I've also got a sit/stand desk at home and if I work for a few days consecutively standing up, it's the closest it ever comes to being back to completely normal. So maybe that might help? But if yours isn't affected by sitting at a desk, maybe not.

A good samaritin who stopped to help said he was a lawyer :)and went to speak to the cafe personnel but there were no managers around. As I thought I'd got away with it apart from the embarrassment I didn't bother - it was only after a couple of days it became apparent I'd injured myself. By then I had no witness details or anything.

Think you've got 6 years to act like, not sure if having a witness is necessary but you'd need to have taken a photo of the offending cable to ascertain if it was breaching H&S rules or whatever legislation applies. Not advocating you should have done anything unless it was a blatant hazard, but then again if you're paying out of pocket medical fees (let alone the pain and suffering) then maybe it would be justified (guessing the cafe would have indemnity). Anyway, hope it sorts itself out and one of the toontastic illuminati can give some sound medical advice.

I think in hindsight you're probably right but as I said it seemed minor at the time.

I was pulling a carry-on suitcase as I'd been away for the weekend which was certainly a factor but I think it was still dodgy.

3 or 4 people stopped to help which briefly restored my faith in humanity as well.

Think it's 3 years for personal injury, but I may be out of date.  However, without evidence other than his own testimony, he is facing an uphill battle (especially if seeking sound medical advice here :))
