It was an absolute institution back in the 80s, Nightowls. Remember that cunt John from Whitley Bay who used to write poems. He's probably been dead 20 years now. Good news for later listeners to the show.

Pretty much Wideopen isn’t it? Hardly surprising.

Jim Lovell, Apollo 13 commander - 97yrs old

One of the last proper heros for me.

Also, probably said the greatest understatement ever uttered in history,

“Ah, Houston, we've had a problem."

( even though he was repeating Jack Swiggert’s original statement).

How they stayed so cool during that entire mission is remarkable.

Agree entirely. It must have appeared so unbelievably hopeless.

Dan (my late son for those who don't know) was a huge nightowls fan reckoned it was the funniest thing ever, anyway for his 30th birthday one of his colleagues wrote to Robson and asked if he'd send Dan a birthday card c/o work.

Indeed Robson did send a card, he turned up at the office and hand delivered it on Dan's birthday along with a pile of CD's.

So he's ok by me.

Fair play, that's class from Robson. As with most public figures, there's probably a lot of unseen stuff they did which meant a lot to people, and which no one else ever saw.

Biddy Baxter 92.

What with Mr Benn and now Blue Peter, the rule of three must have any remaining aging childrens TV folks shitting it.

Just a shame he wasn’t discovered in time for a minute’s silence ahead of Monday’s match

They'd have had to adjust their celebration to suit, but the Jota one was almost there:
