Gemmill 63312
Sort of don't want it to happen if we finish top 5, but would be an amazing safety net if we blew it. Watching a CL final wishing Arsenal to win would be honking though.

Hope they crash and burn in the final and leave legohead with fuck all ... again!

No. The only way sixth gets CL is if the team winning the CL finishes fifth. If they finish top 4 then no extra place is awarded so Villa is the best bet for that to happen.
Gemmill 63312
I don't really want it to happen as long as we get top 5. The most likely team to benefit in that situation would be Chelsea and they can fuck right off with all the blatant cheating they've been doing on PSR.

Gemmill 63312
https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6269182/2025/04/10/bournemouth-psr-premier-league-rules/ In which Bournemouth get around a cast iron breach of PSR by writing off a £70+m loan from a shareholder, and treating the write off as income to be offset against its PSR. This isn't a they might have breached or they might not. Take this one transaction out of their calc, and it's points deduction time. The Premier League: ✅ Nothing to see here.
ewerk 39291
Quote There are examples of Premier League clubs being sold with outstanding shareholder loans where this hasn’t happened. When Mike Ashley sold Newcastle United to a consortium headed by the state Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia in October 2021, the club owed him £106.9m. That debt was extinguished by Ashley getting repaid £17.5m and the remaining £89.4m being assigned to the new owners, who promptly converted the debt to shares. Newcastle had to rush to sell two players and plug a £50m-plus PSR deficit in June of last year. But by Demin appearing to be content with writing off £71.4m during the sale to Foley, Bournemouth have been able to take full advantage in the transfer market and avoid a potential points deduction. Fanks Mike.
