For a while I was based at the Defra buildings next to the River Foss not far from a section of the city walls. Just walking around is interesting in itself. The history of the place is ridiculous. Even the boozer next door to where I worked dates back to the 15th century
wykikitoon 28562
Whenever I've done a job in York it's been a pain in the arse because of the history. One of my first jobs as a grad was the Eboe stand at the race course. First day on the job the found a sword that delayed the job for 2 months 😂 Ive just done a refurb of a building to a restaurant. They want to put a tonne of air handling ducts in. But can't as it's grade 1 listed and the timber despite being absolutely fucked needs to be retained 😂 steelwork everywhere. 1
