Surely we had encouragement from his agent if we were still pushing for him though. Mbuemo interest seemed to end overnight.

Needs to be some law coming in here about the maximum number of players you can have on the books, like. They must have close to 50 players in and around their first team squad now? You’re just actively ruining careers at some point

Also, that cunts pied us twice now. I hope he gets done for doping after his first game for them.

Anyway onwards and upwards. Who we bringing in as Wilson's replacement? It better not be fucking DCL

Some cunt on Bluesky saying it's a myth he's always injured and when someone says he's shit his reply was 'he needs to stay fit and get a run '🤣

We need players to take us to the next level. DCL is doggers

As I was saying earlier Pedro seems like a Class A cunt, and not like Gordon who is a cunt to the opposition but a top class lad within the toon. Pedro will fit in well at Chelsea.

Bullet dodged imho.

Heard the mackems were interested in Pedro too until someone pointed out that's not how Adam Johnston is spelled...

What's the craic with Oshimen these days he was been touted to everyone as the next big thing?

If he didn't want to come here I'm not fussed at all we've missed out. We absolutely need to keep the dressing room spirit intact.

The important thing is the club moves fast on other targets now and not dally till the end of the window.

Whether people think Pedro is a bullet dodged or not, it appears that we've now lost out on 4 players in a row that could play across the front 3 and deputise for Isak at CF if needed (Cunha, Mbuemo, Delap and Pedro). You wonder how far down the list we've got to go before re-signing Wilson or getting DCL on a free becomes an option

If we just get DCL and no RW or back up striker then serious questions need asking. But IMO that won't happen.

Were we ever actually credibly reported as being after cunha?

Mbuemo still plays for Brentford tbf, he's gone nowhere yet. Though it seems we've moved on.

Delap had most of the league after him because that release clause was buttons and he went where he'd be first choice.

I get where you're coming from KD but Im just not at panic stations yet. Our best business has never been public and I feel like a lot of our fans who are panicking just aren't quite used to us being linked with anyone moving yet since Ashley left.

Hot Mitch summer has been a wet fart so far. I’m still optimistic they’ll sign the players we need. Whether they’re the players we want is another matter

Oh I'm not panicking, I'm sure we will sign some players before next season, but there's also a lot of cognitive dissonance going on with some of our fans.

We are one of the last CL clubs to have started their business yet, and just about every player we've been credibly linked with has gone elsewhere. Our DOF is likely leaving without signing a player and pre-season starts in a week. I'm not sure what positives we are meant to be taking from that .

From everything we know they're a perfect fit for each other. Not upset at all that we didn't sign him.

its been a month of an absolute embarrassing shitshow. every single player we've been heavily linked to has fucked off elsewhere.

I don't mind if it's because we've been gazumped on wages by the more well established 'big clubs'  we're all well aware of the hurdles in our way here.

what really fucks me off is idea of missing out on players for a pocket change £5m which is how it' seems we're missing out due to haggling over these days..

the very same pocket change we could easily make up.with a few credible sponsorships which shouldn't even raise an eyebrow.

for fucks sake  I'm not suggesting we sell our under 10s team  to ourselves for £2b here but by the same token we shouldn't be low balling burnley for £5m for their keeper when we could raise that with a training kit sponsorship.

fucking pathetic when every cunt else is literally taking the piss.

Sorry but Eddie Howe isn't signing any players he doesn't want. He might sign some players YOU 🫵 don't want though 😆 gif_temp.gif.12412c45541590222a939760a035b5b0.gif

You're making it sound way worse than it is and way less complicated also.

1. We're not going to upset a harmonious squad that just won a trophy and qualified for the champion's league by bringing in players on huge wages. This rules out many options, but it's likely the right move.

2. The summer transfer window can be a slow burn (yes I know we already have one of those). Sure some business gets done early, mostly by clubs that have few financial restraints, but most happens towards the end as teams selling quality players need to confirm that they can replace them. There's always that domino effect as well as bigger moves occur that money goes back into the market and more players move.

3. We are an attractive prospect to both domestic and international players. We have champion's League, we have a manager who consistently gets the best out of players. We have a slew of internationals in our team both for England and other countries who have earned or maintained their positions whilst playing here.

4. On Trafford, he is a long term target. He wants to come here and he will come here. The clubs have to do the dance on what that final fee is. Every pound saved there is a pound that can be spent elsewhere. It's PSR that means we have to move like this, but even under those constraints look how far we have come in four years. Not getting him earlier hasn't hurt us at all as both Pope and Dubravka had some incredible spells/games through this season.

5. Ability is only one factor in signing a player, we also want to ensure they have the right attitude and are coming for the right reasons.

6. Hardly anyone is taking the piss. Chelsea very obviously are, but few others run the risk. Aston Villa took a bit of gamble and having missed out on CL next season are going to have to take action to at least give the appearance of satisfying PSR.

7. Who have we missed out on that we desperately wanted here?

As above and also we have to wait until 1 July to get rid of the PSR issue.
