Sorry if this has already been posted. Deadline 08June. Downside is that BBC Sport dept is infested with little rag shites who revel in promoting rag propaganda and attacking City at any and every opportunity. Good luck!

Does Gillespie meeting European rules on home grown? Maybe Ruddy will take more of a coaching role but Eddie did say we had too many keepers.

Is he in control now? Presumably, so I assume he's happy with what's going on.

Neither Ruddy (veteran/young kids mentor) and Gillespie (outfield players shooting practice keeper) are in the squad expecting to play, Eddie talked about them and their importance in those roles some months ago so suggest they're not who he meant.

Someone (NUFC Fan) posted what are people's predictions for the top 8 next season at the moment and let's revist after the window has shut.

The amount of NUFC fans pissing their knickers and putting BOTH Man United and Spurs in the Top eight is mad.

It’s a bit early for predictions. Let’s see how the transfer window pans out.

TBH do you expect both to be as dogshit next season as they have been this? That's not bed wetting, it's being realistic. Spurs have CL money and, if they secure Frank, a considerably better manager than they had - I expect they'll be in the top 10.

Man United just seem to be able to piss money up the wall - maybe they're taking a massive gamble in that'll it'll pay off over the next 3 seasons but irrespective, I don't expect they'll be anywhere near as shit as they have been this campaign.

Not even sure Spurs have a great squad tbh. It was telling when you looked at the two teams in the EL final that neither club has got transfers right for a long time. Maybe a more disciplined manager like Frank will see them improve (probably) but I don’t think the likes of us, Villa and maybe even Forest would see too many players they’d desperately want.

it's hard to make predictions before the window closes and we know what our squad looks like but i think it's going to take some effort to improve on last season without some serious and smart investment.

i'd like to think we'll qualify for CL again - or get close - but it'll be some achievement if we do. villa dropped off in the league last season in the the way we did the season before when we were in the CL. plus the legacy "big six" clubs still have bigger spending power than us because of the bullshit rules and are splashing the cash.

despite all that, i expect we'll be in the conversation again because howe is fucking class.

The reason Flange was sacked was because after winning the UEFA he had to be backed in the transfer window by Levy.  Levy doesn't want to splash the cash let's be honest.  So get Frank in and give him a few bob to spend and then go from there.  Their squad like AH said isn't that great.  I know they had injuries last season, but add CL football on top of that and it's going to be a strain.

I do see them improving, but a Top 8?  Not for me.

Man United.  Depends when Amirom will be sacked.  He also doesn't have the players that want to play in his 'system'.  Whatever that is and its going to take a LOT of money to overhaul that squad.  Again, I see them and Spurs battling for 10-12 place.  But there's a lot of competition for that.

tbf Amorim needs at least a summer transfer window before anyone talks about sacking him. He's operating with ten Hag's nonsense. Fair to say they've already started with the overhaul you talk of.

Is that ETH who won two trophies and finishing 3rd and 8th?  That ETH?  Whilst he was funny at least he was adaptable in the way he played. Amirom isn't and they have absolutely zero identity in the way they play.

I agree Amirom needs time, I would say two transfer windows, but they're not going to be that patient are they?

Agreed - both squads are absolutely shite, but both will almost certainly improve.

Certain managers can get the best out of players (Howe being one of them) so they may seem shit now but they could easily turn it around.

i think Spurs have the better squad and will be more of a threat than Man Utd but then we’ll see at the end of the transfer window.

That's what general rag opinion plus all the 'media' were saying after the previous season, but I was thinking 'hang on, look how many stuffy points they salvaged via flukes and the usual diabolical reffing decisions, they cant get higher' - unfortunately the bottom half bet for even those twats was too skinny at 7/1, so failed to take it.

True, they probably cannot get lower this time but 1) we can hope, and 2) I don't see them finding salvation at the top end...

On top of the distinctly average squad and, it seems, out of his depth manager, there's another intangible at play. No-one is going to be daunted to go and play them at OT anymore, teams now go looking to win as opposed to being half beaten before they get on the pitch.
