How's that sound? This is it. I actually pictured Burn doing this to Etikike last night

And the last two seasons are the only time we’ve finished above Man Utd since before the premier league started. I’m not really disagreeing with you, I’m just underlying the reasons why it’s happening but also pointing out we’re getting a lot of things right. I do acknowledge Howe is a fucking huge factor in what we’ve achieved though.

trainman 165
Many references to big6, bullshit6, bolloxingbad6, bornintheusacunting6, but who are they?? redshirt trio plus lapdog spuds are givens, but if you have city and chelsea making up the number six, then that may be harsh. City are fighting the good fight against psr, or at least against the restrictive new rules brought in specifically to hamstring our commercial deals, and chelsea don't seem to give a shit either way - just get on with whatever they want with relative impunity. So it's more like the fucking4, plus all the hangers-on who voted with them just to take some crumbs from the skydarlings' table, while their client media perpetuate bigbad city, and newcastle, while conveniently failing to take issue with, say, rags and scousers failing psr but given pl 'allowances' (rags 40m for covid pre-season cancellation, x20 the value of any other club, and red-scouse 50m for some made-up plan for a new stadium in stanley park. So perhaps sky4, but we have the term Hateful8, referring to those that wrote to Uefa, on Arsenal headed notepaper(!), demanding we be banished to some netherworld... and, I now realise, you were in on it - shame..!! Collectively you're right. But Chelsea have been doing that sort of thing for 15-20 years - not to gazump per se, and certainly not aimed specifically at us, but they've definitely had an agenda to hoover up talent so potential rivals don't get their hands on them. Holden McGroin 9892
If we got Wissa and Isak hadn’t thrown his toys then I think this would have been a good to great window. Isak has fucked EVERYTHING. Selfish prick. id take Richarlison (Howe background check permitting) and Wissa right now. Bear in mind Eddie will get another 25% out of them then they’ll do the job. Not ideal but not a shit show.

Give yersell a good old slap and get out of your grump. We haven’t tried to sign anyone in the last few windows and this window there’s been a run on decent strikers and we’ve fell short mainly due to wages. Theres lots of good players that the likes of Brentford and Palace etc manage to find. We just need to up our game, which shouldn’t really be that hard once / if we get a decent exec team through the door. 2 cup finals (1 win) and 2 CL qualifications. We are doing damn fine man. Little blip on the striker front but that will be sorted eventually.

The Hateful Eight - ManCityStuff I'm having trouble deciphering this, but I'm assuming you're having issue with Man City & Chelsea being lumped in with Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal & Spurs. As we've established elsewhere recently, we collectively don't lob Man City in the same mix as the rest as you've effectively done what we're trying to do, you're just further down the road than us and the authorities have 'closed the gates' behind you. Chelsea on the other hand are the most corrupt bunch of cunts going - including them in the mix is NOT harsh.

The Mighty Hog 618
I've not seen any links from creditable people for Richarlison but he seems to be available from Spurs. We're at the point in the project where we'll not get anywhere by buying unwanted players from clubs wanting to achieve CL places. They've had the "big" move, had the big pay rise. Unless they're exceptionally mentally strong/competitive I can't see them adding anything but a body. We're in a fucked position and even at this point I reckon there's more chance of Isak being successfully re-intergrated into the squad than the likes of Jackson making a contribution that means his wages and fee would be worth it. I don't think that other clubs are buying the same players as us to spite us, but they do have the spending power to bring plans forward by a window or two. Sesko was a long time target for Man Utd but I don't think they were gonna move til someone else did, potentially the same for Etike. Delap had the release clause so that was purely opportunistic for all involved. Joao Pedro is possibly the one we should have got but dragged our feet. I wasn't suggesting he'd been linked, it was a flippant response to Vlahovic being suggested. Seems to have grown legs though

Am not saying it's the chief consideration in any given transfer at any of the bullshit 6 but ffs we did it to Burnley with Chris Wood. There's currently no way we're getting properly near them money wise. "Try and be clever in other markets" just keeps us treading water. And we needed to offer Isak another 100k a week (at least) to get him to stay. One question I've been thinking about recently is would Shearer have "come home' if man utd had offered 20k a week more than we had? I very much doubt it.. It is all, fucking all of it, about money. Anyone saying different is a fool of a liar. Edited August 21 by PaddockLad
