isak isn't even our player of the season tbh. he was brilliant in phases and we would be nowhere without his goals but for consistency across the season, it's tonali or burn.

Agreed. Isak will be there on his goal numbers alone.  But at least he was carrying an injury unlike Palmer and Fernandez who have no right to be on there.

Bruno F. Fuck me.

He wouldn’t even make it into the top 10 midfielders THIS season.

Well yes but no... he was literally the only thing between man utd and relegation... He'd be a good replacement for Longy in the squad...

Yep - whilst Fernandes is as whingy as fuck, he is a decent player in a very, very shit Man United side.

But does he deserve to be in PFA player of the season?  IMO no.

You could say that about most of them on that shortlist - probably Salah aside.

Probably but salah also had a number of games where he was missing.

I'm surprised VVD isn't on there.

He'll probably elbow his way in at some point.

There is no doubting his quality but he hasn’t had a good season. He should be nowhere near the Player of the Year awards.

Well if he scored five he must have scored two on the way to getting to that total

  • 4 weeks later...

Explains the ‘manage minutes’ comments, and also the urgency to get another striker in.

Did he have that surgery at the end of last season?

Suggestions that he wants 300K a week to sign a new contract and we are about 100k behind.  I can understand the club not being able to offer that amount because revenue is still too little to cater for all the other players demanding a pay rise.  Probably agent talk, but he could obviously get that at Liverpool, PSG, Barcelona, etc.

That article quotes the likely made-up nonsense quotes from his agent, and says he's training alone cos his heads been turned (it's cos he's injured).

I suspect the £100k gap on his contract offer is also total guesswork.

Aye the only 'quote' there is from an interview with a saudi publication that was published last week that I believe his agents have denied was real?

The 300k figure is from 'reports by talksport' from a segement with alan pardew on it.

He's training alone due to his injury rehab.

Until he goes or someone of actual note says on video that hes off, I do not believe a bit of this shite. The press love liverpool and they'll pedal stories of him going there as much as they possibly can.

total guesswork work maybe, but would you be in the least bit surprised given our penchant for the lowball? I fucking wouldn't, not even slightly.

I remember saying 12 months ago during the fucking ludicrous guehi saga that we'd be better off investing the money in doubling isak's wages and that still stands, £250k would a relatively low starting point for a player of his quality in my opinion.

if we were to lose isak's goals either by transfer or the fucker being retained but sulking then we're a team scrapping in the brentford/bournemouth/fulham places.

Can we please keep this on topic. What do you think of RobinRobin having the nerve to post that article? Be honest.
