Did you see yesterday that Sir Brexit is looking at charging Man Utd fans £4k a year just to reserve their seat at OT.

Not a peep from the media about it.  Nope, cant criticise him one bit.

At least they look like they're actually doing something about a new stadium.

I think you should go, all charged up with your best venom and vitriol superpower and turn the place into a bear-pit whether he's playing for them or not.

if he's lining up for those murdering cunts I'd rather the ground was empty.

like it should've been against hull in 2008.

This would be honourable but you have to remember we were all there to see the grand debut of Xisco and his vital goal that saw us finish 18th instead of 19th.

The sell on clause is 10-15% of any capital gain, Edwards' sums are wrong. (As per our resident Spanish guru).

Is he not just relating the profit you may make?

If Isak cost you £63m(?) and you sell for £130m then take, say, 10% sell-on fee off the 67m profit, that leaves you just over £60m to the good. Helps, but hardly negates any PSR bollox. I didn't read the Edwards piece but the figures in the extract don't suggest he was saying a 50% sell-on clause.

£60m to the good in cash terms.

PSR terms are different though.

His book value sits at £24m (£60m x 0.4). So if we clear £123m from a sale then that's a PSR profit of £99m.

Not sure about that. My perception is he gets battered by everyone.

If he's played 3 of a 5yr contract, yes, indeed... (tho I saw many mentions of 3 years remaining?)

Ateod it's just shear greed on Isak's side, with an element of ingratitude. NUFC and Eddie Howe made him the player he is today. Of course he has a shirt career and will want to maximise on that to an extent, but he owes us loyalty in making the transition as smooth as possible for us. As has been said, the timing fucking stinks.

I've never wanted to screw over an ex-employer even when they've treated me badly (mind, that may be more about burning bridges). And this is more than just the club, it's the fans he's screwing. Remember this Alexander?

Not many players will have tarnished their reputation with us in the way he has. Iirc Cole was not the one to instigate the ManU move, for instance. If he lands up in Liverpool I hope he flops.

I don't really have a problem with it other than the timing. And if he's being difficult behind the scenes and refusing to go to Singapore etc but that's not the line that's being taken at least.

It's naive to think that a lad from Sweden with no links to the club should owe the club anything really. It's a shame he's on a different trajectory to us, but I put the blame for that on our execs and Chairman.

Bruno has no links to the club, but I'm not sure he would do this...

No blame on the PSR constraints?

Am not asking him to stay here for life and have an emotional connection, I am asking that he recognises the mentorship he has received that has made him and treats us with basic respect.

Honestly though, we'll see. His Sweden record isn't great, is it? Could be that the set up here was more beneficial for him that he chooses to recognise. Shame.

If Real Madrid came knocking then Bruno would be away in a shot.

Yup.

They're class lads that we've got in this squad, but we shouldn't kid ourselves that some of the better ones don't have ambitions that extend beyond NUFC in its current form. It's the responsibility of the club to deliver on the story we spun them.

i've moved from denial to anger in the grief process. if isak doesn't want to play for us we can show him the door and he can fuck off.

if we can get £150m it fixes our psr problems in the short to medium term plus if we get wissa and sesko we could arguably be in a better position than we were with isak and wilson.

isak is world class on his day, but he isn't always fit, he lacks physicality, occasionally goes missing and has been known to fluffs one-on-ones when he has too much time to think about it.

i don't want to lose isak. sesko isn't PL proven, but is Isak really worth twice as much as him? time will tell i suppose.

I'm also assuming we replace him with sesko. not sure which other CFs are available who could fill the gap but it looks like sekso is potentially available. it also looks like i've moved from anger to bargaining in the time it's taken me to compose this post.

You don't know he hasn't done that though - recognise the mentorship. He might have been absolutely class with Howe, and just said look I'm nearly 26, I cannot stay here until this club makes the strides that we all want it to make.

Of course there's some blame on PSR, and I think in general it's good that we've been sensible, but the more that goes on the less I rate the job that they're doing. In particular the state of this fucking transfer window.

This is another transfer window that has been completely fucked up. When Mitchell went, why the fuck did we not appoint someone on a consultancy basis to run the window for us. There must be capable people with contacts in the induatry that can do a better job of this than the manager and a couple of scouts. Instead we've just shrugged our shoulders and turned again to Howe, a bloke just coming off a brush with pneumonia.

Eales has presided over this. And I know he's not well, but if he's not well enough to do the job then he should have been moved on quicker. It doesn't take this long to even IDENTIFY your replacement ffs. I'm not talking about getting them in post, I'm talking about knowing who your preferred candidate is and making them an offer. We're 10 months into that process ffs.

I'm shocked anyone can see any positives in all of this.  If we were a club that was being run at all (which it seems we are not at the moment beyond what Howe can try and keep together) I would agree that we always knew there would likely come a time where we would need to sell a top player to release the financial headroom to add a number of other top players to the squad.  The problem is now, we are a rudderless ship so how can we have any confidence that if we sold Isak for £150m+, we would then see two new quality strikers, a midfielder, a central defender and a keeper come in who could all positively impact the team next season?  How can we have any confidence that the powers that aren't there can convince Bruno, Tonali, Gordon, Tino etc that we are still a project moving forward and that we can match their sporting and financial ambitions?

I had every faith that we would make signings this summer to improve the squad but lets face the fact that this summer has pretty much been an absolute clusterfuck and the five weeks or so that remain of the transfer window look like they may as well be five minutes at this point.  The most likely scenario now is one way or another we will be in a weaker position at the start of this season than we were at the start of last.  We will either have an unhappy, unmotivated striker or a new one who is not as good.  I have no expectation that we can even replace the other positions that we have lost players in since the start of last season let alone improve on them.

Am in the stage of the break up where I'm saying to myself "Didn't fancy her anyway, tits are too small" as I cry myself to sleep and wank over her.

Aye I'd agree with a lot of this. I particular that simply having two capable forwards in place of one that's class but injury prone, and one that is totally buckled, is already an improvement.

Plus money left over from the dealwhen we already had cash to spend. It could genuinely be transformative, but it needs to happen quick or it's another window blown.

If Isak does go then a Sesko/Wissa double swoop would actually leave me quite happy.

Wissa already PL experienced and proven to score goals in this league, Sesko with everything needed to be Howe'd into an absolute monster.

If we sell him now I just cannot see any money being fully reinvested in the next two transfer windows. I am discounting Wissa.

Our movement in the transfer market is glacial and selling Isak and not replacing him ASAP is a total failure.

I'm pretty confident that if we sell him in good time, we'll replace him.

I think we'd be looking for a new manager if we sold him and didn't replace him.
