I mean we all hold all the cards. Yes he can strop and all that, but there is no reason we have to roll over and have our tummies tickled. If Liverpool want him then they have to pay what we demand.

A rare occasion where I agree, him chucking the toys should not change our position on the transfer imo. They've just paid 80 million for someone whos career tally is around what Isak managed last season. They can pay what he's worth or the saudis can.

One thing about selling to the Saudis is that any profit under UEFA rules is booked as a nil value because it's a related party transaction.

Thats only for UEFA who only dish out fines right? PL would be fine with it?

Aye no issues with PL. As I said the other day, UEFA have started issuing transfer bans but can't see them targeting us with that.

Trouble is we're (seemingly) too soft. I reckon we'll let him go, let him go this window, let him go to a direct rival (yes the red dipper cunts) and let him go for less than £150m.

I'm channelling Gemmill level predictions here, so let's all cross our fingers!

Just going back to Andy Cole.

Keegan authorised that as he wanted an all around better CF (turned out to be Les). I don't think Cole angled for a move. It certainly wasn't made public if he did.

Yep. Once told I think he was keen. Keegan was keen on Gillespie too...

Fuck him. Murphy made him look good, without his assists he’d barely have scored double figures.

I’ll always remember that it wasn’t him who scored after that dribble against Everton.

Never liked Ikea anyway. And why the fuck would anyone want to see Abba holograms? Surely the whole point of a gig is to get to see the band in person, then have an awkward chat with them over the merch table later.

AYE FUCK THE SWEDES

But this is social media in a nutshell.

I've avoided reading any comments on twitter or looking in the 'For You' section since the news broke for this very reason.  It's absolutely unbearable as a medium at times like this (and a lot of the rest of the time).

What are the club supposed to say though? There is absolutely nothing worth saying until we know what is happening one way or another.

Keegan was the absolute master of communication too. Him coming out on the steps of the Milburn to talk directly to the fans is one of my fondest memories of him. How close he got. :(

Not make bullshit up would be a start.

So come out and tell the world that Isak has had his head turned and refused to play? That's not exactly wise with a player that we're hoping to keep.

Honestly, I think the stuff about "reclaiming the narrative" is pretty unlikely to help. Arguably this situation is to a decent extent the product of too much focus on the "narrative" and not enough attention given on actually fuckin' doing something. Eventually, the "narrative" becomes just that: empty words. In my books, it is time for action. I can sympathize with the sentiment because there are certainly extenuating circumstances but I think we're beyond placating the masses with empty platitudes about ambition and blah blah blah. If anything a bunch of word salad about "ambition" and "PSR" and "it's all Mitchell's fault guys, we swear, we're about to arrest him for treason", is likely to make things worse not better. Anyway only my two cents, of course.

I asked Gemini to recreate this using Eddie Howe to replace Keegan and this is what it came up with. Tbf, surreal as it is, it probably is close to what NUFC's current comms team would come up with.
