All players have a price in the eyes of the courts. And Isak's will surely be less than 130 million euros or whatever we're asking for. Now, by the time Isak sees the lawsuit resolved 'in his favor,' months will have passed, and his season will be over, and perhaps also his options to go to another team while his transfer is 'frozen.' How can he sue the club for not letting him go? He's under contract

Honestly don’t think he’d win. Also Liverpool have demonstrated what they are willing to pay with their previous bid. I think the more likely outcome is the player being liable for his value. Otherwise everyone would do what he does when they want a move and this is pretty unprecedented. It’s obviously different nowadays (correctly) when a player’s contract has expired.
trooper 1058
Serious question would Eddie have to name him in the squad on match day, then any refusal to play would result in fines ? Or has he already breached his contract with all the other stuff that's been going sent home for Celtic game, no Asian trip, training alone etc ? Will the fines have started, or will they start this weekend ?

Making himself unavailable should be enough, fines should start from Saturday but that's up to the club.

trooper 1058
Just at the minute he's probably got a few quid. But once he starts getting fined week in week out things might get very tasty very quickly. Seriously will any future clubs want to be putting up with his child like behaviour. Just keep him on the naughty step until his attitude changes

The fact is £150m may be OTT. But the way Liverpool, Isak, his agent and cunts like Ornstein have behaved is the precise reason the club is taking this hardline stance.

Renton 27792
Its about right imo given his contract length, the scarcity of strikers and precedents set by Rice etc. I think he might be worth it to a club like Liverpool who can utilise him, not worth it for many clubs that couldn't. Probably worth £2.50 for the mackems for instance. Edited August 14 by Renton

And that’s when you have the grounds for fines
