basically calling Isak a liar

When you think about it, Isak has inferred Howe as a liar. He's the only one from within the club that had spoken.

All pointing to a reintegration at some stage or full blown legal action.

My concern would be the septic capabilities of the cunt in the dressing room. Do you really want him there with the opportunity to pollute others?

Wissa in is a must.

Get Toney in on loan. Maybe even send Isak the other way for 6 months but get a £25m fee for it.

There will be other plays round the corner from Isak and his agent but we desperately need others in, so his return to the fold holds less value. That way he has to push for reintegration, not the other way round.

There is no "full blown legal action" option, everything is stipulated in his playing contract, he turns up for work as he is directed by the club or else we can fine him 2 weeks wages every time he doesn't. Ultimately we could sack him and retain his player registration until his contract ends, he hasn't got a leg to stand on.

Or submit a transfer request. Which should be easy because it isn't about the money, it's about 'trust'.

This is the crux of it like, if he wants the move he's going to have to submit a formal request ... and realise that is one of a number of conditions needed for the club to agree to a sale.

The exchange of these statements has made the club's position, and determination to retain him even stronger.

Aren't you 30 years out of date with that last bit old man? Jean Luc Bosman sorted all that out :D

No, Bosman was about players being free to move when a contract ends NOT players breaking contracts still in place.

Read Borson.

I genuinely don’t know how this will end.

Saudi might be the best bet with someone else coming back in return.

I cant see him being reintegrated into the team any time soon. The players don’t want him. The fans don’t want him and I don’t think Howe wants him either.

If you're sacked there isn't a contract to break though, and you did say NUFC could conceivably sack him. Not sure why you've brought soft cheese infused with herbs into it though 🤷‍♂️

As long as he's giving 100% then the players and Howe know that the best chance they have of winning matches is having Isak in the side. The fans will take longer to come round and he'll never be forgiven but at the end of the day we need a firing striker.

It's going to be a fascinating 10 days, that's for sure.

I can see the club properly digging their heels in, mind. He's shown the utmost disrespect.

Yeah I agree with this. So long as he's doing the business, the fans will accept him in the shirt. But the idolisation and adoration ... that's never coming back.

Holden's comment earlier about a partner having an affair but you keep it going for the kids is a decent analogy. There can be a future, but it'll never be the same as it was.

The irony that he talks about broken trust. What's he done with the supporter base, who I note were NEVER mentioned in his rant BTW. Definitely out of touch.

I dunno. Howe holds high values is all about the greater good of the team.  It would take a massive, grovelling apology from Isak to even get him on the good side, but then it would be futile gesture as we know what he wants.

NUFC should propose a one season loan swap with Ramos...   or summat like that! Just get rid of the cnut

I’m absolutely staggered he never mentioned the supporters in that petulant statement BTW. It’s either a massive oversight or he really doesn’t get this club.

Its not like the fans ever took any notice of him though.

Read Borson, the cheese is Boursin, your reading ability has patently been impaired and dazzled by the glare of your shirt, that, along with your comprehension difficulties similarly impaired by the multiple wiplash events in your motoring history.

Or perhaps you are dyslexic, I didn't consider that tbh, with your fashion sense I had you as nailed on colour blind but never considered dyslexia, until now.

This might have already been said, but the wording of the NUFC statement that no one promised him "he could leave the club" is key for me, and pretty much confirms that "broken promise" to Isak was that we would give him a new contract last season.

I suspect Isak has announced to the club 2 weeks before the end of the season he wants to leave and won't be signing a new deal. Hence Mitchell getting his marching orders a week later.

Thinking about it, I am doing interviews right now for a position at my work. When judging candidates, a key point is the motivation for the interviewee should be how they can contribute and improve the company, with reasons of personal advancement second. Isak's statement was just me, me, me. It stinks.

He always seemed quite measured and calm when he scored his goals, didn't show the pure joy other players did like Gordon or Bruno, Burn, any of them. Its not impossible he has psychopathic personality.

I think it's far more likely the statement was written for him and he didn't fully absorb it's content, or likely impact before hitting the 'Post' button.

That is entirely on him though, but I definitely think this was written by his agent, or another representative of his.

As I said last night, he's having a tantrum because a 'pinky promise' hasn't been upheld.

He's prepared to sully his reputation, his relationship with fans that idolised him and, potentially, the rest of his career over something he cannot hope to validate in any shape or form.

Not a peep out of the smug Ornstein yet. I wonder what his agent/Liverpool will feed him next.

Alex today has gone on hunger strike. He feels let down by the club and has no intention of ever eating again whilst at NUFC. The club agreed he could have Swedish meatballs on a Thursday but it turned out they were tinned Campbells. The trust has been lost and relationship can’t continue.”

I think I've found his agent then, lads:

If it's about the contract then why not even enter negotiations? He could justifiably say he was promised a contract a year ago and since then he's scored 20+ goals so wants it backdated. That isn't unreasonable. But it seems like he hasn't even given the club a chance, just hoyed his toys out of the pram.

Sky discussed this and concluded that the issue is we can't offer him the amount he wants - maybe we had enough of a conversation for that to be clear.
