I think he’s a cunt, but a stupid one, not an absolute one.

Nothing in the lead up to this showed him to be in the wanker category of player, it’s just weird to me that he seems to have totally 180°ed his entire professional and personal attitude in the space of a few weeks.

The only reasonable explanation I can see is , instead of having the proverbial angel on one shoulder and devil on the other, he’s only had the little devil whispering in his ear.

that's the most surprising/disappointing thing about the whole affair. he seemed like a really nice bloke when interviewed. turns out he's a total douche

Oh yeah, I have no doubt this is all Lemic. That he's written the statement and Alex has just hit the 'post' button. Stupid twat should have proof read it, mind you - that is something that is completely on him.

You'd like to think the PFA might be reaching out to him to advise him his agent is a fucking fruitloop and he might want to be ditching him pronto. One thing the entire football world seems to agree on is that he's been the subject of some truly awful advice. Time for his union to step up and show their worth.

What is hard here is we do not know what he has been told.

I doubt that the players are there for contract negotiations so we don't know what he thinks was promised to him as well.

If he has been advised that NUFC had promised x, then refused to deliver and Liverpool and willing to off x+ and this is the only narrative, you can see why he feels used.

There is also the information that we are saying we are only willing to accept £150m. Is he on the same wages as a player who costs £150m?

There is a lot of narrative that can be pushed to him to make him feel completely shafted.

I don't feel sorry for him. I was in the sell Isak camp when there was none of the drama.

I am not sure how much he would proof read and also what advice he has been given.

I have an IT service provider at work. They have told me that I need to get rid of loads of the hardware as it is put of date. I have to trust their advice as that is what the company are paying them to give us the advice and expertise. No good me believing that I can get another year out of the x amount of laptops etc.

Dear Mister Dr Gloom,

I am Dr. Bakare Tunde, the cousin of Nigerian Astronaut, Air Force Major Abacha Tunde. He was the first African in space when he made a secret flight to the Salyut 6 space station in 1979. He was on a later Soviet spaceflight, Soyuz T-16Z to the secret Soviet military space station Salyut 8T in 1989. He was stranded there in 1990 when the Soviet Union was dissolved. His other Soviet crew members returned to earth on the Soyuz T-16Z, but his place was taken up by return cargo. There have been occasional Progrez supply flights to keep him going since that time. He is in good humor, but wants to come home.

In the 35-years since he has been on the station, he has accumulated flight pay and interest amounting to almost $ 15,000,000 American Dollars. This is held in a trust at the Lagos National Savings and Trust Association. If we can obtain access to this money, we can place a down payment with the Russian Space Authorities for a Soyuz return flight to bring him back to Earth. I am told this will cost $ 3,000,000 American Dollars. In order to access the his trust fund we need your assistance.

.COM's musings on Isak's statement:

It's nice of the player to pipe up after his summertime disappearing act, having allowed others to do his work during the last month or so.

Whatever faint hopes of a temporary reconciliation would certainly now appear to be over - there's no patching this one up. That of course is the intention - arriving at the same point as submitting a transfer request, but without the financial jeopardy of doing that. Perish the thought.

What those promises were, who made them and when they were made will now prompt a further avalanche of media coverage to obscure the inconvenient fact that nothing was written down and there is no release clause.

If we're talking about statements, one in the form of an acceptable bid from a certain club would be a start - but doubtless they'll be keeping well clear until the dust settles after this latest development.

Rafa Benitez is fond of saying that "football is a lie", but the pursuit of truth in this unsavoury situation is becoming less important than solving the conundrum of replacing Isak.

PS: On July 24th, when Isak told Newcastle he wanted to "explore a move away from the club" we wrote that:

The message is clear: a concerted campaign from the North West involving briefings to sympathetic media outlets has succeeded in unsettling the player and encouraged his representatives.

This latest development will doubtless prompt a backlash against Isak from disgruntled Newcastle fans, which will then be advanced as a reason for his inevitable exit.

The circus moves on to Gallowgate next Monday, with Sky on hand to record every chant and shout. And so it goes.

Playing devils advocate, if my boss promised me a new contract, then their replacement reneged, but I then had to watch Gordon, Joelinton, Burn and Schar all sign new contracts last season, I'd be a bit pissed off.

It doesn't justify his actions, but the Gordon and Joelinton pay rises probably rubbed salt in his wounds!

In that scenario you could: ask for more money + a release clause. And/or find a club willing to pay at least close to you valuation and do so in a manner that allows your current club optimal time to get a replacement. You could also put in a transfer request.
All of those would make infinitely more sense than repeatedly making public statements about focussing on playing for Newcastle then blindsiding the club by using third parties to say you’re never playing for the club again. With three years left on your contract.
You might be pissed off but you don’t behave the way he has. Even from a completely selfish perspective of the player his actions are a very bad tactic in terms of furthering his career

Were they similarly already one of the highest earners in the club with 4 years of their existing contract left to serve? I had little time for Paul Mitchell, but given the individual circumstances pertaining to Alex Isak last summer, I think he made the right call.

As Alex said, if he wasn't happy with the outcome he had several avenues of acceptable recourse that he could have selected - none of which he did.

No sympathy for him here.

I've been out for a few hours so I asked ChatGPT to summarise the last ten pages, and it just said "Every cunt just keeps saying the same fucking thing over and over again. Especially Craig."

Can anyone confirm or deny?

I can't wait for Liverpool to fuck Isak off even more when they submit a deadline day bid for Gordon instead.
