Dunno if Shearer was the best choice for narrator...

Can't help feel that there's a much better story to be told, it's all very bland and not particularly revealing (which is to be expected, I guess).

Watched it and still think I'd rather they didn't bother, canny enough but I think these things you're setting yourself up for a fall. Obviously it's going to get better when the run in starts. One bit of kudos for the producers is the Newcastle fans shown were non of the usual fame hungry cunts which makes me feel glad knowing the usual suspects will be telling everyone how much they're loving watching the show but knowing inside they'll be gutted they weren't asked to be on it.

The way Wrexham did their show and how Sunderland did theirs was to focus on the personalities first, and introduce the story of the football club through their eyes. Like, start with sit downs with a couple of players, Staveley, and some fans. Given how fast they've rattled through the season, I dunno how they're going to stretch it out for another 3 episodes.

You're probably right. We'll get the Cup final, the Spurs game, will surely feature, then the Brighton game (which felt like the confirmation of the CL even though it wasn't mathematically).

These reviews of parts you haven’t seen are like an assessment of off-the-ball running via a game on tv
