Craig 7808 Posted yesterday at 14:47 Share Posted yesterday at 14:47 6 minutes of trying to find a reason for disallowing a perfectly good goal. What an absolute farce.

Yes it will have meant more to their fans as its their first ever trophy but please don't accuse us of taking it for granted. Yesterday was more important than CL qualification, we're not Arsenal targeting CL qualification every season then switching off. Mostly recovered from the disappointment of yesterday. I was fuming at Hendersons handball not getting a red but calmed down now. Nothing will convince me that that wasn't a red. Even Ian Wright said it was a red and that he (Wright) would have scored if that was him. Not sure why they'd have an ex Palace player in Darren Cann as VAR Assistant. He played in the Palace youth team as a striker alongside Ian Wright. But it's done now. I like Palace and live near them. Not met many of my Palace friends or neighbour yet. Although 1 called up and gave it large over the phone. Give her the benefit of the doubt for being a bad winner as it's new to her. For comparison, when we won the FA Cup in 2011 i got pizza in for everyone in the office the next working day. I did the same when we won the league in 2012 and a few times after. It was to make up for putting up with me going on about City all the time. A shame for Palace as it takes the shine off it for them imo. Not that they'll care obviously. I wouldn't. Their replacement keeper may have saved the penalty and it might have stayed 1-0. We'll never know, Only one result matters to me now. The 115. oh and good luck v Arsenal later, I for one wanted our oil brothers to win so commiserations.

For having a toe over the line? Well, that wasn't the debate, was it? It was regarding an obvious and deliberate handball, (arm) outside the area and patting the ball away from an onrushing Haaland. Gemmill 53522 Posted yesterday at 16:30 Share Posted yesterday at 16:30 I didn't think it was a red like. I thought Haaland was headed away from goal and Lacroix or whatever his name is could was more or less level with play. I don't think it even remotely takes the shine off for Palace either. They won't give a fuck.
ewerk 34727 Posted yesterday at 16:53 Share Posted yesterday at 16:53 Aye it wasn’t denying a clear goal scoring opportunity so never a red.

Craig 7808
Yeah, a GK handling the ball outside the box isn't an automatic red card, it needs to be denying a goalscoring opportunity. In most cases these two go hand-in-hand but they deemed on Saturday that Haaland was moving away from the goal. It was absolutely an offence though as he clearly handled outside the box. Was a free-kick given for it? I can't remember.

They won't give a fuck. it was only going away from goal after the Palace keeper slapped it away. if not for the handball it would have been under Haalands control, his foot was right there looking to take the ball under control as it was slapped away. the former referee analysts all say it was a mistake and should have been red. but of course your entitled to your view. especially on your own forum. they definitely don't give a fuck as i wouldn't if it was the other way around. quite rightly so btw.

Rashford was flagged offside, moved towards the ball dragging players, but Atwell over ruled it. With an offside rule explanation never heard before or since.

Otherwise Haaland gets his foot to it and is past Henderson with his momentum. absolute stone wall.
Craig 7808
I'll say this for sure, if that was against us I'd be screaming for a red card. I agree with LondonBlue on this - it was going away from goal because Henderson pushed it that way. How VAR came to the decision that it wasn't a goalscoring opportunity is for them to explain.
