Transition season incoming, just got to hope we do well in the cups, the trouble is a transition season for us is far more costly than it is for the likes of Chelsea. I'm not disputing we should do better when Wissa comes back but feel like we're definitely not getting CL football this year, (let's not forget Wissa is also away to the mental mid season African tournament which always amazes me that it's played in the club football season). We got in the CL last year by the skin of our teeth, I already think we've dropped and will continue to drop, more points than we can afford to if we want to qualify this year.

Aye, 6pts from 6 games is poor start.

We've looked good defensively for the most part, and our midfield 3 are nailed on starters, but we've got 4 wingers who all look out of form at the same time.

Fair play to Big Nick for instantly adapting to the pace of the league. He's looked good since day one

Eddie's going to have to work it out and get them gelling with minimum training sessions. I think we'll come good fwiw but I don't think it's going to be enough.

Joelinton and Bruno looked knackered today. Same for Murphy.

We either press as a unit or not at all. Today we did the latter.

Gordon has been awful since Southgate ruined his confidence.

Positives.

- Thiaw looks brilliant. Calm, ball playing centre half with a no nonsense filter on when required.

- Botman was Excellent again.

- Woltemade looks a handful. Once the out of form wingers find something, think we'll look a much more dangerous outfit.

Looking forward to the Brighton game with Ramsey and Wissa potentially back.

Fingers crossed Tino isn't out for some time & we'll have a fully fit squad come then.

I do wonder if they'll try and get someone in in January even if it's a loan?

Got to bring a midfielder in IMO. I know we have Ramsey to come back but I’m concerned about his injury record and fear it might come back and I’m not sure Howe really trusts Willock anymore

Why on Earth Dan Burn was grappling at the corner instead of trying to win a header is beyond me. Pope is trying to punch a different ball I think.

If that was spot the ball, I'd definitely not have scooped the jackpot.

Nobody really trusts Willock tbh.

Fucking Pope was man of the match until he fucked up with that terrible clearance that led to the corner and winning goal

Am I missing the "deflection" onto the Arsenal players arm btw? And why tf was the elbow on big Nick not checked by VAR? I thought the ref had a good game but VAR has fucked us twice

The way Woltemade complained should have made it clear that something happened. Incredible they didn’t feel the need to check it themselves. A punch i to the face with the ball nowhere near is a clear red imho.

I liked Woltemade taking no shit from that snide coward as well. I just wish these lads would get what's coming to them just once.

I am surprised by Woltemade as I feared he would need more time to adapt to the game. He does still to get more used the physicality of the Premierleague but it looks like he could cope well.

I am very impressed with Woltemade !!! He looks like the real thing  !!

Yeah you could see he was working on the press, and he was picking up some great positions making it easy for team mates to get him involved. Some of that could have done with being further up the pitch though but we just couldnt get it up to those areas with Murphy and Gordon.

How can you judge this to be a deflection warranting to say that the player was unlucky to get hit at his arm? I don’t think it made any difference to the direction of the ball.

Quite a bit of shirt grabbing by Gabriel when Gordon tried to cross it to Woltemade as well. I really don’t know how Arsenal can feel the need to moan about decisions even after winning deservedly.

And everybody was cheering like mad, except one little boy

You see, he hadn't heard about the magic suit and

Didn′t know what he was supposed to see.

Well, as the King came by the little boy looked

and, horrified Said “

Look at the King! Look at the the King! Look at the

King, the King, the King!

The King is in the altogether

This is how I feel hearing some of you talk about Woltemade?? ?

Looks years away to me from being a starter under normal circumstances. I love the fact he’s got two headers (which isn’t meant to be his thing), but he moves like an oil tanker doing the press, seems to have no hunger in the box and apart from the goal, never seems to get off the ground to win a header when the balls played up to him.

I don’t blame him for any of this, unfortunately circumstances have thrust him into a position he is not ready for.

And it’s no surprise our wingers are struggling a bit when the tip of the arrow that they are used to playing with is blunted.

I also think Eddie got his tactics wrong today and showed Arsenal too much respect. We were toothless going forward and but for Popes first half performance, could have conceded 4 or 5 in the first half.

We need Wissa to be back for Brighton, stay fit and come up with a better plan for when he goes to Afcon. And then we somehow need to find some more bodies in January.

Probably, but maybe a bit too early for the gloomy predictions. Arsenal and Liverpool are probably both top 3 this year (along with Man city). But then who is there? Chelsea aren't great, Villa and Forest both fallen away. Can't see Spurs turning it around as much. I think there's 2 places up for grabs and I wouldn't rule us out completely just yet. We have to improve ASAP mind, especially at home.

Remember Shane Ferguson, and reflect on your ability to judge a player.

@Christmas Tree you were at one point, and in the most literal sense of the word, LITERALLY the only person that thought that Shane Ferguson was a star.

Now you're the only person that thinks that Woltemade looks "years away from being a starter".

What do you suppose might be going on here?

Woltemade yesterday was decent. He holds the ball up. He's a great passer of the ball and they're literally shit scared of him so they usually two up on him.

He scored and he contributed a lot. So this fucking spice taking shite is weird.

He needs better support.  Gordon improved on that yesterday. He started making better runs. It's going to take time for us to get used to that. Isak never dropped deep and held the ball up.

I am still wanting to see him Elanga and Gordon on for a decent period. I thought Murphy was quiet yesterday but that's probably because most of the play was down the left.
