I went to cancel monthly subscription as well but they offered me a year for 7.99 so I did that. Going to be fucking furious next December when i forgrmet to cancel and they rinse me for 70 quid or whatever the yearly subscription is

I'd honestly knock back a year's free subscription in case I ended up paying a single penny on auto renew, it's garbage.

If you've now paid for a year up front, can't you just cancel it now? This is what I do with streaming subscriptions, it still lets you watch until the end of the period but no more "D'Oh!" experiences.

Yeah. Check the T&Cs but if you cancel stuff like that you usual still get it up until the end of the subscription period (because you’ve already paid for it)
