Poor little fucker was hit by a car last night and killed. Someone very kindly picked her up and took her to the vet who has just rang us.

It was on Sandy Lane, which I'm surprised she went as far as, but there you go.

Mate just saw this. Sorry to hear

Yeah ours was much the same when the wee fella went. We’ve started having next doors jackapoo overnight, fairly certain we’ll have another hound by the end of the year…

What a thoroughly unpleasant pair of cunts.

Apart from highlighting what wrong uns they are you have to wonder what else they’ve been up to. It also highlights quite a serious issue where people just keep committing crime if there’s zero repercussions, even like here where there’s been evidence from witnesses etc. and police involvement.

Ah I hope you do. It's horrible losing pets. My last two cats I'd had them both from kittens, they were 12, followed me everywhere, and went within 6 weeks of one another. That was absolutely shite.

This one was definitely different cos we've only had her 15 months and she was quite an aloof cat who kept herself to herself. Still sad though cos she'd had an absolutely crap start to her life elsewhere and was loving it here.

But it's made me think about one day having to take the dog on that last trip to the vet, and I can't even get my head around the idea of it. He's only 4 at the minute so it's a long way off hopefully.

Anyway, I hope you get yourselves another dog, it's mad how much they fill up your life.

I remember when we had our Newfoundland put down as kids.  She was a massive bear.  We had her from a pump and she was soft as shite. Loved her to bits.  One day the old fella said he was taking her to the vets.  Didn't think why just carried on playing Fifa.  He came back dog lead in hand.  Looked at me and started crying.  That hit so hard as my old dad didn't show his emotions at all.  :(

Sorry to hear about your cat, gemmill, apart from the missus being vehemently against having a pet one of the reasons that would put me off is when they die. Seen too many sad faces when others pets have been put down. If they lived longer I might've traded in wor lass for a dog.

*

Same here. I don't really want a pet, but the kids nag me every day for a dog. Can't really afford it, the hassle of holidays etc, there is no chance the kids would help out, plus I'm allergic. Don't feel like I have the time for an animal and don't want the emotional attachment when they die. However, I've agreed with Mrs Rents we can get a dog with hypoallergenic fur when we retire/kids leave home so she has some companionship while I do my own thing.

* For some reason I can't leave likes on my new device, anybody experience this? Is there a setting I've knacked?

Cheers mister. Having a dog is fucking mint. I always preferred cats cos they're the lazy man's choice but getting out for walks with this div twice a day forces you to get exercise and they're just fucking mint to have around.

Aye, you're 100% right. After this one kicks the bucket I won't get another one until the kids are well grown up. Saying that I've been expecting mine to drop any day for the last few years but he keeps on going, I think he's just turned into a right lazy bastard in his advanced years.
