been thinking of getting meself a bike. this is massively hypocritical of me as I literally haven't got a good word to say about the cunts who ride them, cluttering up the highways with their antisocial behaviour and complete lack of any road sense whatsoever etc etc 

anyway, with that in mind I'm thinking of a mountain bike which I can ride on the many trails in the wye valley without being a blight on the life of decent, tax paying motorists. would a secondhand one for about £500 be a decent buy or would it likely drop to bits the first time you went over a bump?

For £500 you'll get  fine one. Will be heavier but nowadays for that money a starter bike will be right.
