  1. Past hour
  2. I would say Murphy last season was just as important to us as Elanga was to Forest. Murphy had 20 goal contributions in the league last season and we had no one else who looked like putting in numbers anywhere close to that on the right. I agree with the different points in their career part and I think I'd be looking for £30m+ if we were to sell him. The size of prices we're being quoted for replacements tells me we'd have to value him at that sort of amount. We'd probably get about £15m for him from Saudi though.
  3. I think it's comparing apples with pears somewhat. They're at different points of their career and a lot rests on how pivotal the player is to the club he's at - was Murphy as much of a pivotal player for us as Elanga was for Forest last season? He had a decent season but he isn't as important to us as Elanga is to Forest. £45m was never going to get anywhere. If we're serious about signing these players, we need to go in with a bid higher than 75% of their current club's valuation. All we're doing at the moment is signalling intention and opening the door to 'Newcastle Tax' being applied.
  4. £20-30m maybe? murphy just had his best season of his career aged 30. Elanga is what, 22 or 23 with his best years ahead of him
  5. I was just interested in what people value Murphy at. He had a better season than Elanga last term so I was wondering how we valued him in comparisson.
  6. I'm not sure of the relevance. It's not about what I'd accept, it's about what a selling club would accept. Are Forest likely to listen to an offer of £45m for a player pivotal to what they achieved last season? Not in my mind.
  7. If that’s your sort of thing then can I point you in the direction of a certain Vurnon Anita.
  8. Spend the weekend with friends in Strasbourg. Not a bad place either.
  9. Today
  10. Same with Guehi last year. Fucking madness rbh
  11. Would you accept £45m for Murphy?
  12. It’s Jimbo‘s telly or nothing
  13. Listen. I've been visiting ADULTS ONLY hotels exclusively for the last 20 years. I know what turns up and it's mostly old, really ugly Russian cunts with frankly OUTRAGEOUS women tottering around the pool in 6 inch platform heels. They have photo shoots by the side of the pool where their creepy old men get them to do "sexy" poses. And whilst we may differ on our definition of "sexy", I am perfectly happy for these photo shoots to proceed.
  14. Geordie Journos: "I think he's a tit, me like" He can SWIVEL. All of our transfer deals are completed 72 hours BEFORE we put a shit interview with the new player up on our social media. When that video is posted, only THEN can we have a t+3 HERE WE GO party, and not a moment before.
  15. “ explaining to a fly why honey is better than shit” I’ve never liked Neil Young tbh, whilst not denying his talent, legacy, etc, having the Saturday night headline slot filled by a 79yr old says something. Quite what, I don’t know.
  16. Until somebody does the country will remain fucked. Amongst all Starmer’s failings the refusal to tell the truth about Brexit is the most damaging and the most depressing I fucking despise the cowardly cunt
  17. I still wonder if the club has more ducks lined up than we think and is just waiting for the PSR deadline to pass. At least I desperately hope that's it. If not then IMO what has held us back this summer has been chaos in the boardroom.
  18. I’m not panicking but we’ve clearly wasted a lot of time on Pedro and possibly Elanga.
  19. The place will crawling with old bald lads with ponytails and their sagging wives looking for a swap. Make sure you take plenty of your new medicine so Mrs. G. can get herself in the mood to take on Grandad Cocksmith and Rita.
  20. He was always going to cost £60m because it's what he's worth in today's game. When the bid of £45m was mentioned the immediate reaction of anyone was it's at least £15m short. If he was our player and had a season like he's just had, there's no way we'd entertain any bid south of £60m for him.
  21. I take what Romano says with a pinch of salt tbh. He's evidently got some things right, but not everything. I retract what I said earlier. I think we most likely did express an interest but if the player currently playing on the south coast doesn't want to relocate to the North East for one reason or another, that's his prerogative. I don't find the need to wish ill of him because he doesn't have a burning desire to join my club. As for Chelsea - I think they'll offer a challenge to the title this year - more so than Arsenal. Them qualifying for the CL was massive and I think they'll push on further, much to my annoyance.
  22. I really don’t understand why someone from Labour hasn’t come out and made a statement about everything people were lied to about Brexit , and who lied to them. And, equally, the devastating effect it’s had on our living standards. There’s nowt wrong with telling people they made a mistake due to being lied to, especially since most of the fuckwits that voted for now realise that’s the case. It’s all perfectly provable, and they could use parliamentary privilege if they were unduly worried about Farage sueing or whatever, because he’s No. 1 suspect here.
  23. romano tweeted this morning that it's close to being done
  24. I'd be fucking livid if I was Howe like. Pre season starts on Monday and we're still offering Burnley 60% of their stated asking price for Trafford. If Chelsea wanted Pedro, us meeting Brighton's valuation or not is irrelevant, cos they would have come in and gazumped us anyway - wages, London, and the player's apparent preference would have fucked us anyway. But we appear to have a clear run at Trafford, he wants to come, and we are dicking about on price. If we don't make Burnley an offer they can't refuse, they'll keep refusing it and keep a hold of a lad that gives them a better chance of staying up.
