  1. Past hour
  2. If you’re going down that route, that revenue is the be all and end all, then it’s like arguing getting a brand new state of the art stadium is bigger than winning our first trophy. But I’m going to go out on a limb here and suggest it’s not the sole motivation for players. I’d suggest the cup final was a bigger deal. It’s been distilled somewhat in terms of importance this year because the race is so tight and it all comes down to ‘another cup final’. But the actual fact of winning things is what truly defines a club and drives future success as much as anything. We’ve been in the CL previously and it didn’t get us subsequent tangible success. Winning stuff is the only metric that really matters.
  3. The difference with Fergie is that his No.1 priority was to win. He wasn't evangelical in the way he wanted the team to play. Amorim's approach seems to be that he will set his team up his way no matter what and winning is secondary to that. I can understand his thinking in that he was successful with this system before so he wants to get it working again but just because it was successful in Portugal doesn't mean it will work in the PL, especially when he has inherited a squad totally unsuited to it. The best managers can be tactically flexible, Eddie Howe can easily change tactics during a game but Amorim appears to be a blinkered one trick pony.
  4. below is the correct answer. you mightn't fucking like it, but it's the harsh reality.
  5. absolutely fucking typical of this type
  6. I know some lads from work who are London-based / from the south east. One’s actually from Kent and ‘supports’ Man Utd AND Crystal Palace and the other is a Liverpool fan. They’re both spot on and the LFC fan particular knows his football and played at a very decent level. But I just struggle to take their football loyalties seriously. There’s fucking thousands like them all over the country too. Just glory hunters. You don’t really get that with Spurs. I can’t say I like them very much, although I do have some family from the Pinner / Northwood area who are ‘proper’ and followed THFC all over in the 80s. They’re a bit older than me but used to always stay with us / other relatives when they played us or the Mackems. I even went to see them v Sunderland at Roker Park once in the old Canon League Division One. So I was chuffed for them. They’re good lads. I don’t see Spurs kicking on either really as Levy is too cautious and they’re about 6 players off being a good side. On the other hand, Man Utd being deprived of CL at the moment when they need it most is fucking brilliant.
  7. tottenham will beat brighton on sunday. man utd will lose to aston villa and finish the season 17th. they're over £1b in debt ratcliffe announced net losses of 113m at the beginning of this year with further losses of over £300m over the previous 3 years. they lost £40m to covid. (i know) they've just seen a £100m windfall disappear over the bay of biscay. they'll likely spend a fucking fortune this summer!
  8. My thoughts exactly and guess what? The cunt never turned up even though his missus probably wanted to say bye to wor lass.
  9. Well you didn’t just pose the question, you agreed with the premise (I’d say so). IMO winning a cup was bigger for everyone at the club than CL qualification is. And that’s how it should be. Of course Sunday is a massive game but surely we’re not complacent about that trophy win already. When I say ‘we’ I mean you and CT. The latter being psychologically incapable of agreeing with the majority. Makes you think
  10. Typical aussie banging on about helmets
  11. One of the best things was. They lost in that manner in front of that red nosed cunt Fergie too 😁
  12. Spare a thought for Harry Kane. Left Spurs after growing fed up not winning anything. The moment he does, so do they. How very ‘Michael Owen’
  13. In the nicest possible way it’s the likes of him being “radicalised by the grief of Munich” in the 60s that has made Man Utd one of the biggest clubs on the planet. Ive always resented these fuckers most tbh
  14. Today
  15. Arsenal was made to bring Spurs along by their mam.
  16. Just another corporate grift. https://www.mississippifreepress.org/ice-arrests-mississippi-father-at-his-citizenship-hearing-threatening-deportation/
  17. there's pushing embellishment a bit too far.
  18. Nash Gordon. He was going to save the universe but had to sign on.
  19. calm down man, I only posed it as question for debate and it's created a canny one. as gloom said, there wasn't and never would be 300k lining the streets for a top 4 finish, however I'd be willing to bet those that are running the finances of the club and plotting the budget for recruitment etc will be infinitely more crushed if we finish 6th than had we been beaten by liverpool, I understand that too. sunday's game is fucking massive.
  20. I've no idea in all honesty mate, I stole it off n.o. and never gave it much more than a cursory glance. bit like the ones gemmill chucks up on here.
  21. Have a mint time. St Lucia is proper fancy as well isn't it?
